Many hours of work restoring an old photograph disappear

I have been slowly restoring a treasured photo to the tune of 10-20 hours of work. This morning, for no apparent reason most of that work just disappeared for no apparent reason. This is VERY distressing. I have recent renderings of the pic but the changes no longer exist in Lightroom.  Any ideas how to recover it? (This is Lightroom Mobile)
