I had Lightroom 7.5, and wanted to upgrade to 8.0.

Now Creative Cloud desktop tells me I have 8.0, but in Lightroom it says 6.0. Before upgrading I had 7.5.

I have tried to fault trace, by signing out, restarting the Mac and signing in til Creative Cloud again, but no change.

In Mac Finder - go to Applications

Expand any folder showing "Lightroom CC"
Activate the Uninstall for that folder
If the Uninstall doesn't run, delete the folder in Applications

Once you've removed them all from Finder, refresh your CCD App and install again.

If you use the Creative Cloud App to uninstall the LrD 6.x, and then refresh the app ([Ctrl/Cmd]+[Alt/Opt]+[ R ]) and then reinstall, what version is installed?

  • Thanks for replying so quickly, @Rikk Flohr: Photography  So strangely there is no option in the CC-app to uninstall - no way I can find. LrD.LR-6-Opt.JPG

Problem solved, but this was not straigt forward.
I expanded the Lightroom CC folder, and activated the Uninstall. That jumped directly to the CCD app.
So, I deleted the Lightroom CC folder, but when I clicked install in the CCD app, Lr opened, now with v7.5
So, I found a second Lightroom application fil in the Apps folder, and deleted it.
Now time to install Lightroom, and v8.0 is the installed version.
Thanks for guiding me, @Rikk Flohr: Photography
