Create an option to launch LR for mobile app direct to camera with expedited startup time, eg: get the camera functionality first, then look for sync updates when the library is requested (or in background). Please and thank you!

I love to use the Lightroom camera but it is a multi step operation to get to it unlike the built in Iphone camera. How anout an app that launches you right into the camera

Lightroom CC is the BEST app available for iOS RAW image shooting. The only problem is the app takes a while to initially load, and after loading you then have to launch and load the camera. It would make this app perfect if you add the setting to auto launch the app into camera shooting mode.

So this was actually solved (partially; still no setting to always launch into camera mode) in my original thread but it appears the replies were not included when my thread was merged into here. I fixed this issue by reinstalling the app (even though I was on the latest version). If anyone is having difficulty with the widget/force-touch camera quick launch functionality, reinstalling the app should fix it.

Thanks for sharing your solution Ben! The replies are still available on the linked thread, but you're right, only the first post gets transferred over to the merged thread.

Hey all - while the long press on iOS is nice, there’s also a widget that you can add that may be slightly faster.
For the record my ideal situation is to have a preference in the app that is device specific that I can set to launch the app direct to camera always, since that’s my primary use on my iPhone.

If you make Lightroom one of your docked items on iOS then the Long Press is available quickly from every screen but the Notification screen. If you are like me you have many items to scroll through in the notification screen.

Currently doing that, but as stated above my ideal situation is still to launch directly to the camera in an expedited manner. When I want to take a photo of something I want as little delay between that thought and actually capturing the image. Sometimes even a slight delay means missing the moment. LR has by far the most capable camera for the iPhone, but it is too slow to get too. Even the long press is too slow compared to the speed of launching the native Camera app. Adding a preference switch to start the app in camera or library mode is what I'm asking for, as doing that should be the absolute fastest way to get to the camera in LR. If Apple lets me add LR to the control panel to access the camera from the lock screen, even better. Thanks!
