LEGEND ,

For better editing and comparison I think a "create a virtual copy" option would be very nice.

Snapshots was implemented in the form of the new Versions Feature found in the 2020 release.  Please see  https://theblog.adobe.com/june-photography-releases/ for details!

At this time a Virtual Copy analog remains unplanned.

Yes, this is absolutely vital to any pro workflow. The only reason I am ready to pay a subscription is because of the cloud sync. But then, if I cannot use it for real, what is the point? Other editing apps are actually much better/faster/easier not to mention more affordable than Adobe’s solutions. It seems like the right time to switch.

Up!
Adobe, WHEN will you listen to users requests? This request is 5 years old, has 3 pages of comments and almost 300 upvotes. What do you even focus on other feature before fixing LR?

Hey Guys! Is there a way to upload multiple copies of a photo into the Lightroom app so that I can try multiple edits? Every time I try to re add a photo it stops me and says it won’t allow a duplicate.

Yeah I'm missing this feature as well. Can't take much time to implement it.

It's so basic, and usefull now when more and more are editing on there mobile devices because they are powerful enough now.

Another vote for this. It’s amazing that the mobile version is basically the same as desktop, but this one missing feature really cripples it for serious work.

Adding my small voice to this collective hive of common sense. Comparing multiple edits are a necessity for the doubtful.

I frequently use the "make a copy" feature on Lightroom CC on my desktop but it either doesn't exist or I haven't found the feature on the mobile app. This would really improve my workflow when away from home.

It's make my life (and choices) easier. It also allows to keep different version of a photo 😉

I really liked the snapshot feature in Lightroom Classic. I recently switched to Lightroom CC (cloud based) so that I could sync my photos between all the devices I am constantly switching between, but I don't think it has the snapshots feature. This is the only thing I am missing from Lightroom and it would make photo editing so much easier.

It could be nice to see the snapshots created with Lightroom Desktop in Lightroom CC and have the ability to create a snapshot with Lightroom CC.

Another +1 for this, I'm really surprised it's still not possible. I was taking some headshots for people at work, and I was so close to being able to do it entirely on my iPad Pro alone, except that they wanted both a colour and B&W version. So... I had to go back to the computer to be able to duplicate them and add a B&W edit. 😞

Seems like this product request from four years ago is still stagnant. Any progress on this? This should be relatively straight forward to do, and a much needed addition.

LMK if you need a UX designer.. i'll do it haha

Please, it blow my mind to find out it’s nearly 2020 and we still do not have snapshots on LR CC.

Yes, the virtual copy function is a crucial feature on the desktop app that is absent on the iPad os app. I’m missing this capability on iPad very much, and I’m hoping Adobe will give this high priority. Thank you.

I really want to use Lightroom CC and mobile. But it feels like with every hurdle that is removed reveals even more little hurdles fill its place

There is no ability to create multiple copies of one image. I provide my clients with multiple versions of photos. For example every black and white image I give them I also give them the colored original. Lightroom mobile not having this really makes using my ipad frustrating. To be honest I can’t believe this hasn’t been updated yet.

How is it possibile that a basic, very basic feature like the possibility to duplicate a photo inside my library in Lightroom CC mobile (for iPad for example) is still not available??? This is absurd. We need this feature for example for editing the same photo in different way, now every time I have to go on my Mac, duplicate the photo (because the desktop version of Lightroom cc allows it. Even more absurd) and the edit it on the iPad. We are not talking about a free version app here.......

How can lightroom mobile not have the ability to make a virtual copy?? The whole program is made for editing an image. You always want to keep the original version of the image you edited. This makes using the ipad so frustrating to use. Please add it I beg you!!!

This is a no-brainer when you consider the savings in disk space compared to duplicating a file – especially DNG-HDR files.
