Provide segmentation features on desktop to match iOS app
I find the segmentation view very helpful in providing a timeline perspective for large albums and of course the library as a whole.
Also feature parity between the platforms is nice. It's always disappointing when you find a useful feature on one platform only to find its not on another. Leads to the feeling that one platform has a lower priority to Adobe than the other.
Wow 2 years gone still not there. Rough.
Curious, what is the use case for this segmentation?
How do I activate the "segmentation" option in Lr for macbook pro m2 ?

Are you talking about Lightroom (Lr icon) or Lightroom Classic (LrC icon)?
The option can be found on Lr for ipad 11 pro
@Ionel266742750g7v are you asking a question about a macbook app or an ipad app?
Macbook pro m2 app
and which lightroom? (open the app>help>about). embed a screenshot for clarity.
Screenshot is from ipad pro 11
in what way is the ipad related to a question about an app on a macbook?
Why is a very useful option found on the ipad app not also found on the macbook pro m2 app?
that i don't know. if you want to make a feature request, do so here - https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html
Why is a very useful option("segmentation") found on the ipad app not also found on the macbook pro m2 app?
The option "segmentation" is not apparent in the 'Desktop' version of Lightroom.
Perhaps because the larger screen size of Macs & PCs doesn't warrent "segmentation".
Both 'Sort' and 'By Date' options are the nearest to "segmentation" although it might be useful in Lightroom-Desktop - worthy of suggesting as an 'idea'!
Wow. I am so glad I used to pirate this stuff. Adobe is so terrible with basic features. This has been on here since 2018, 5 years ago. I'm glad I moved the majority of my workflow over to Aff****y because this is just inexcusable for a company their size with the money they're making off cloud.
iOS Lightroom has segementation so you can have the grid view segment photos by various options, notably by date such as Year or Month or Date which I always find invaluable. But oddly it's missing from macOS. There is a drill down date option in the sidebar (which wish iOS had), but that is different from segmentation since you can visually see which photos are in the segements by simply scrolling.
Not sure if this omission on macOS is an oversite or some reason why it's intentionally not there on macOS but is on iOS?
