P: (Local Mode) real time metadata updates from Photo Mechanic

Hi,

I'm using Lightroom (not Classic) on Windows 11 with Photo Mechanic.

When I update metadata in PM, for example a star rating the change is not reflected in LR.

I've checked the xmp file and it's being correctly updated.

I've tried clearing the LR cache.

If I make an update in LR then PM sees it without issue.

If I restart LR then the correct metadata is displayed.

Is there a way for LR to automatically watch xmp files or at least perform a re-read if the image is selected?

Thanks.

Greetings all,

Updates for Adobe Photography products have been released.  The May updates have implemented this feature request.

If you do not see the update in your Creative Cloud Application, you can refresh it by hitting [Ctrl/Cmd]+[Alt/Opt]+[ R ].

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your update to be available in your Creative Cloud app.

Thank you for being so patient.

Assuming you are talking about the Local Mode in Lightroom, I'm not aware of any way (automatically or manually) to get Lightroom to re-read the metadata after the image is initially loaded. If nobody else can offer a way, perhaps you should convert this discussion to an "Idea".
