Thank you all for letting us know that the recent update fixed this for you. IF you still have the error 142 AND have the latest Ps beta installed, 25.10, please start a new thread so the team can investigate what might be happening for your system.

Thanks,

Cory - Photoshop Product Manager

I'm still having problems with PS Beta 25.9. Mine won't even launch and show a splash screen. So, I'm unable to disable the plug-ins to see if they're still the problem.

I uninstalled the latest Beta, restarted the computer, reinstalled to no avail.

I have an old Dell XPS 435T desktop with 32 Gb of RAM. An Nvidia GeForce GT 1030. My two plug-ins are DxO's Nik Collection and Radiant Imaging Labs. Everything worked up to PS Beta 25.7. The release version of Photoshop 25.7 also works well.

@Roberto3712092816o6 you may be trying to run Photoshop with an unsupported CPU, see this related thread

And the same answer: report it on the beta forum.

And the same answer, if you are not an admin to migrate, and there is no solution, don't interfere.
Responding to users in a rude and ironic way, who do you think you are?

An admin can migrate to the correct forum.

Ok, sorry about that. Didn't mean to be rude, just succinct 🙂

But there is an important point behind this. The beta release is strictly for testing purposes. When you download it, you agree to report the problems you find to Adobe. That's the deal. So it's natural that you connect to the beta forum right away.

Many people see the beta as simply the "newest feature" release. That's a misunderstanding. It's not a stable release and it's not supposed to be. Its whole purpose is testing and exposing problems.

Okay, we all know what 'beta' means here, and we're part of making the program better by reporting these bugs. Chill out. If it's in the wrong place, the admins will move it.

@AlexDSBR there's no way that volunteer moderators can monitor all the post in this community, hence some post may not be moved to the correct community in a timely manner and that's why we encourage people to post to the correct community as they have a better chance of getting a reply to the issue quicker.

Adobe admins do occasionally post in this community, but very seldom move post to the correct community, this is left to the volunteer moderators.

Cory ... Any way to go back to 25.9.0? and not for 25.8?

When I updated from 25.8 to 25.9 it stopped working, but when I installed the beta version (on another computer) for the first time - it worked perfectly. Maybe this will be a hint for you.

Hello,
After updating P.S. (Beta) 25.9, the app no longer opens. An error appears (0x0000142) saying that the application cannot be initialized correctly!
Anyone having the same problem?

That's exactly the right question! Everything runs perfectly on my laptop with an Intel i7 processor, but not on the PC with an Intel i5 processor.
