Apple Photos: PS Beta won't save

The Photos app on Mac has an "edit with" option. PS and PS Beta (including 25.1) appear as options. When opening in the beta, making edits, flattening, then saving, PS Beta refuses to save to the temp file that Apple Photos set up. Instead it wants to save a new file. This isn't how the "edit with" flow is supposed to work. It should replace the file and appear in Apple Photos.

Hi @Justin Other curious what your settings are in prefs, have you tried clicking on Enable legacy "Save As"?

Hi @CoryShubert. It was off by default, and that's how I've used it to date. Just now I checked the box and retried the experiment. It still fails and brings up a Save As… dialog box.

Launch BETA Photoshop While Pressing The Keyboard Shortcut

With Photoshop closed, press and hold Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Shift+Command+Option (Mac) on your keyboard and then Launch Photoshop the way you normally would.

It may help if we could see your Photoshop beta System Info. Launch Photoshop beta, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

@CoryShuberthere is the system info. Note that I think the issue has something to do with the fact that there is no longer a Save… file format option that includes .jpeg files. When opening an image for PShop edits from the Photos app, an image might be in .jpg or .jpeg format. When closing, Photoshop doesn't want to save the file in the appropriate format to match and overwrite the existing file. This causes the bug.

Curious @Justin Other do you have the same issue with Ps release, 25.0?

Scratch volume(s):
2016 JHL Docs, 93.1G, 82.0G free - it is suggested that you have a min of 100gb of scratch space.

Testing here and we are seeing the update to the file showing in Apple Photos.

Could you share a video of your workflow, maybe we are missing something?
