Can PS Beta and Generative Fill be used in client work?

I've been really enjoying playing with Generative Fill but I would like to know if this can be used for client work that goes public? From what I see online, we have to wait to come out of Beta, but I guess I'd just like some official confirmation this. Thanks

Hi @dunnep, I recently had similar questions about Generative Fill and Photoshop Beta. I reached out to an Adobe Support employee, and he let me know that we can only use the Generative Fill to remove parts of an image, not to replace parts of an image. Removing people, objects, and other items are not considered using the function of AI to create a "new" image. I guess this is the loophole since removing parts of images is the same as Content-Aware Fill.

Hi all, sorry there is confusion around this subject.  At this time NO use of GF, be it add/remove/enhance etc of an image that is for commercial output is allowed.

You may use it for any and all personal projects and share with others via social media, that is allowed. Some may think that GF to remove an object is the same technology as Content-Aware but they are not.

Your use of GF and feedback and bug help is all propelling the release of GF to the main Ps version, but until then, please do not use GF for commercial outputs.

Hi Cory, thanks for your input! The confusion you refer to may actually be generated by the Generative AI Terms accessible through PS Help menu, see point 6. Commercial Use, which apparently allows commercial use of artwork generated according to the terms of usage (Adobe Generative AI User Guidelines)?! But according to your input artwork created using GF cannot be used commercially "at this time?!" This makes for rather a lot of confusion because if I were to guide myself by the terms found in PS I would think that I can use my artwork commercially without infringing copyrighted artwork of others?! Suddenly, I find myself in a catch 21 situation and myself as well as others out there may wonder whether they can or cannot use GF to create artwork for commercial purposes?! Some probably already have done so because the Terms in PS apparently give the understanding that it is perfectly legal to do so?! But the catch 21 is when someone uses GF to create artwork then sells it commercially and is sued for plagiarizing their own artwork creations?! I believe Adobe needs to make things "much" clearer for everybody out there to clearly understand what can and what cannot be done! In short, the Generative AI Terms in PS don't give us a clear understanding of what you share here?! Much to the contrary!

Sorry, that should read catch 22! Also, if we aren't allowed to use our artwork commercially "at this time," are there plans to allow this in the future or not? If so when? If not then GF is a very fun toy to play with but doesn't appear to advance the creativity of artists around the globe which use PS?!

In fact, without naming names, there are world-renowned pro photographers out there teaching and using PS generative fill for commercial work?!
