Hi Team
Long time learner, first time poster for help.
I was having a play with generative fill in photoshop (which was working), but when I tried generative expand with the crop tool like the tutorial, it came up with an error message saying "the parameters for command "Generative Fill" are not currently valid". I have updated, restarted the programme, reset preferences, restarted my computer, but still no luck. Has anybody encountered this and know of a solution? The only thing I can think of is that I am a teacher and am using a school Adobe account. But it will still let me use generative fill so I am not sure why it does one but not the other. Am I missing something glaringly obvious?
Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

Same.... works on 33 of 34 of my computers in my lab. Reinstalled and that still did not fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TYIA.

Not that its a great solution but I uninstalled V25.2 and installed V25.0 and expand worked again.

go through the creative cloud app and click on the three dots next to photoshop. it should come up with 'other versions'. click on it and there you go.

Yup, it was broken in v25.4 aswell. Rolling back to v25.0 fixed the problem.

Both uninstalling and re-installing an older version are located in the creative cloud app on the far right side of the apps name - the triple dot icon.

I had the same issue just come up in one of the labs I manage. students were on 25.3-25.6. Try downgrading to 25.0 and see if it asks you to accepts the AI terms again. It did for my test account then it started working.

Version 25.3..1 was just released, may be worth updating to see if they fixed this. Haven't had any problems with Generative Expand myself though...

This 'fix' no longer works. V 25 also has the bug now (April 2024)

Getting the same message as well.
The parameters for command “Generative Fill” are not currently valid.

What I tried (maybe not a perfect solution, but it worked for me) was just using the crop tool to expand the canvas. Then I selected the part of the canvas that was 'new' and had nothing in it. Then I used generative fill with that selection. This was a couple more steps, but it did the same thing that I wanted generative expand to do, even though that wasn't working.

Definitely still an issue, rocking V25.5.1 and this is now affecting my personal machine (managed by the school district). This is definitely happening on a few of the machines in my lab. Love to teach and use the latest and greatest feature! Hellllllp
