I've been waiting for some explanation about the "new" Selection Brush tool that was recently introduced in PS beta. Has Adobe said anything? So far I haven't been able to find an official description of this tool...

The icon resembles the Quick Selection tool, but it is slightly different. The only options are add/substract, opacity, size/hardness (no brush tip shape or anything else) and overlay color.

As far as I can see, it is pretty much the same as painting with the regular Brush tool in Quick Mask mode, without entering Quick Mask. But there must be something else to it...?

Adobe should of at least used the Selection Brush Tool as it is in Photoshop Elements.

Neither iteration seems to be a substitute for using Quick Mask Mode.
