Photoshop Beta is not saving files

I'm on the desktop version of Adobe Photoshop (Beta) and it will not allow me to save files (I've tried save, save as, save a copy, and save for web). When I save, nothing happens and the file is not saved into my local folder.

If I try and quit out of the program, the prompt modal appears asking if I'd like to "save changes to my file before closing". I click on the "Save" button and nothing happens.

Try resetting Prefs for the Beta:

Launch BETA Photoshop While Pressing The Keyboard Shortcut

With Photoshop closed, press and hold Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Shift+Command+Option (Mac) on your keyboard and then Launch Photoshop the way you normally would.

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

I have a file that took hours to design in the beta version. I can't just restart but it's not letting me save either. Any ideas?

Upgrade to the latest version of the beta - 25.0.

Also go to Apple System Settings/Security and Privacy/Full Disk Access and make sure PS is listed and active.

The issue is any solution at this point will force you to restart your PS. This is the risk with using beta software unfortunately.

Wow....same exact problem...and just lost about 2 hrs of work on a photo composite bc it was saving initially then stopped saving. force quit PSD Beta v25 and lost EVERYTHING. I am beyond frustrated.

I went through the same thing, but I resorted to force shutting down my macbook without saving the file. When I turned it back on, the file was there as a "-recovered" one, but saved right up until the last thing I did on it, so we could say it worked.

I had the same issue, I force shut down my computer as someone else said and it saved as a recovered file.

I think the issue stemmed from my updating the Beta app while using it.

Thank you for your advice, I tried everything too and nothing worked. I had this issue before and lost the image, but this time I had worked 2 days on the file and did NOT want to lose one inch of it!!! I did do a "File Export, Layers to Files" which saved every single layer separately in PSD which was a list something better than nothing before trying to force shut off and have the Recovered File brought back. I wasn't sure it would work, but it did thank you!!!! But the issue for sure needs to be resolved!!

MtbMikeyB I think you may be correct—I got a prompt to update Beta while using and that's when problem occurred. Fortunately at least I took screenshots of all my adjustment layer settings so recreating would be a bit less painful

Not sure that could be always the cause . With the first image I did have to update Beta but with the second image I was fine with updates and it still happened...

Hi, so, same here but found a quick solution, go to Print, then in the bottom left drop down instead of saving as PDF use the "send in Mail". Send it to you, it send it as PDF. I opened up in illustrator since I needed just the image. I hope this helps someone, who like me, needs something quick for a simple image.
