scaling issue

Hey all!

Could somebody help me to a setting? It seems so impossble at this point. I downloaded Photoshop Beta and worked with the 2023 version before. It use to be so that if i clicked on an item on a layer, i could scale that specific item: it would have a virtual border around and I could scale the item without having to go to edit > transform > scale which is a nuissance anyway since it has no shortcut.

I use it a lot and want to change back the settings to what I was used to. But i can't find it anywhere.. anyone?
