When I tried removing a person in a photo the person was replaced by another person. I used to remove the object and also did it without typing anything. Tried to replace it also and nothing results in clearing the person which is the object and just keeps on replacing it with a different person's image. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
Hi @Jayantha30340305dfh2 @jane-e same issue but a prompt could resolve - try entering "fill with background [parameter]" like fill with street scene or grass, etc. does that help? I found entering "remove" doesnt always work as expected.

The same thing happened to me. I gave up after seeing 4 or 5 different "people" replace the one I was trying to remove.

Thanks a lot, Kevin. That helped. Did not fill back with another guy.

The advice from Kevin below typing "fill with background/parameter" helped me. Try and see how you go.

I was stumped by this as well. Even "fill with background [parameter]" wasn't working for me.... I eventually got what I was after by making a much bigger selection around the person that took in a lot more of the background. Hope that helps.

Sometimes I think the prompt for the generative fill is like those buttons you are supposed to push to change the traffic lights for crossing the street. It is not actually hooked up to anything. I have the same issue. It usually is because a hint of a shadow is on the subject or object you are keeping, and the AI makes an assumption you want something there to make that shadow. Why some random person, I have no idea. I find doing some advance work on the subject (shadow removal, etc) and resizing the canvas to limit the amound of area AI needs to fill does help, but sometimes it just feels like putting random people in.

I just keep removing that area with the Remove tool and eventually the part of the image you are trying to remove disappears.

I tried something that kinda works:
--Choose the Object Selection Tool in the toolbar
--Use the tool to draw a selection rectangle (it doesn't have to be exact) around the area of the image you want to remove. This selects that area
--Right-click on the selected area and choose "Delete and Fill Selection"

One big tip is if you leave anything remaining when using the Remove Tool or Generative Fill the AI will think it needs to replace instead of remove. Keep your selections loose around the subject and not tight.

thank you, I will try that!
