It's been talked about in the thread above.

In Photoshop 23.0 and 22.5.2, when I enter Japanese character using the Horizontal Type tool, the characters are not displayed or inline conversion is not possible.
This looks like a compatibility issue between Photoshop and Japanese Input Method(IME).
Since 22.5.1 and earlier did not have this issue, it is likely due to a common fix in 23.0 and 22.5.2.

A common workaround in these cases is to revert to a previous version, but worse, you can't get a version of Photoshop 22.5.1 or earlier.
Therefore, Photoshop cannot be used unless a version that solves the problem is released.

I know we can't offer Photoshop 22.5.1 or earlier due to our support policy, but that means "don't use Photoshop". You must provide a version earlier than 22.5.1 just until the issue is resolved.

This does not sound like an IME issue. The user stated this PC does not have GPU. Clicking on the layer in Layers panel will display the text.

I posted questions to the user in the original thread in Japanese.
  1. The user li5EE1 uses PC with no graphics card. Is this the same for the user cyu?
  2. What is the PC make and model?
  3. Copy the text from Help > System Info dialog, and post the contents.
  4. What is the IME you are using?
  5. Does the text appear when typing Roman characters without using IME?
  6. Check the check box for Preferences > Technology Preview > Deactivate Native Canvas and restart Ps. Then, try. Reproduced?
