Upgrading Photoshop  has been nothing but a headache.  Anyone familiar with Photoshop's crawling ants selection (lassso, anti-aliased)  knows they should march, not pulse. So what is causing this? And how the duck do I get it to stop.

Hey, @Ghoul Fool. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll help you figure this out. The system info is from Photoshop v22.2. Please ensure you're working on the latest version of Photoshop v25.12 & share the system info from it. 

 

Based on the given information, your machine has two GPUs: the power-saving AMD Radeon Graphics and the high-performance Radeon RX 7600.

Upgrading Photoshop got me into this mess in the first place. I am very resiscent to upgrade futher. I believe I'm within my rights to use version 22.2. 

 

Let's not complicate things further and follow stage 6 of your suggestion:

Currently adding Photoshop and Sniffer.exe to High performance didn't seem to do anything.

So I swithed off the Radeon graphics card - Things got worse as marquee or lasoo selections did not show up at all. You've have to take my word for it as a screenhot just say anyhing (the lasso / marquee selection is entirely missing)

 

So,  naturally I switched that back on.

Only to notice that moving a seection around was errr frankly "noisy"photoshop move.png

 

So... it seems I'm back at square one, I have the option of strobing marching ants selection (Use Graphics process in Preferences to OFF)

or marquees that are half a pixel out  (Use Graphics process in Preferences to ON)  please see my inital post which has been ignored.
