P: CS6/CC Menus blank (white) Mavericks Mac OS X 10.9

Explorer ,
Oct 24, 2013 Oct 24, 2013

Hello, I hope I am in the right place for this:

I am on a Mac 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7, with 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3. I just installed OS Mavericks. I am running Photoshop CS6.

Randomly throughout using the program, my windows/palettes (i.e. the layers palette) will become white. Even the "Save" window menu will become white. It's still functional (if I press enter on the save menu, it will save), but I can't see any of the options. I've uninstalled the program and reinstalled. This has unfortunately not solved the problem. Please help

Thanks for the help in advance!

Michael

MacOS 10.9.3 is now available, and contains a fix for this MacOS bug.

You should continue using the plugin, however, because the plugin also contains a fix for another bug that has not yet been addressed.

It seams that problem is not properly solve, SO , Is Adobe going to contact WACOM and APPLE about this any time soon. I think they all should sit down and have a chat...

The only update we have is that some people are seeing the same problem in some other applications. A few users have solved it with driver updates - but we are still investigating with Apple and Wacom.

Seemingly randomly, PS CC pull-down-menus will go blank (all white) making it impossible to continue working and nearly impossible to save. Using CMD+S, a "save" window will pop up but it will also be all white (blank). Hitting RETURN still allows you to save the file but you have no idea where it went or what it was saved as. If I then quite PS completely and reopen it fixes the problem. But obviously, when I am working on an important project this is a HUGE issue. What's up???!!

Updated my wacom driver, 2 days without it happening. Hopefully fixed.
Now just for the graduated filter to work in any way.

Also twice now while working and it does this, it has also prevented me from saving the images. So thanks for all the extra work.

Same problem here too. All menu's go blank. Unable to realistically work this way!

A separate problem I have, when the menu items work is that I am being asked if I want to save my work directly after having saved it.

A note to those that say they are losing work. You can still save work -blindly. Command Shift S and without the dialog box visible, type something original, like "blindsave". Then after you quit you can search for your file which should be in the same folder the original file was placed, or where previous "saves" were put.

I am losing all menu options in drop downs and within the PS software (no palettes, no layer options). Although I save often I am still losing time with my work. I must save by typing a new version of my work [blindly] because of a blank, all white Save dialog box, quit the app, restart it, and then find my work and open it.

Bonjour,
je rencontre fréquemment un problème jamais vu jusqu’à présent, au bout d’un certain lapse de temps Photoshop réagit bizarrement, les palettes n’affichent plus aucun texte, elles apparaissent blanches, savez-vous d’où vient ce problème ?
NB. Je suis sur Mac OSX Mavericks, iMac 27", 2,8 Ghz Intel Core i7, 16Go de RAM, Photoshop CC

I guess getting rid of Maverick is the only solution since this started with Maverick. Apple is really letting down its backbone which is the creative community. They stopped paying attention to us a long time ago.

After creating masks to cut out areas of a photo the menu text disappears (or possibly changes colour to white text on a white background).

I upgraded my Wacom drivers and am still experiencing this problem as well as having black filled squares show up randomly on my images. I'm certain this is a Maverick issue.

seen this thread on really odd and weird menu behaviours (perpetual licence version)?

this badly needs fixing , especially the issue (after the first mentioned prob) of getting the opacity slider to show a tool name (error)

Photoshop CS6: Recently when I'm working on a project the toolbar stops loading (File/edit/image, etc.), I get a white box under ALL tabs, including the tools (Brushes/shapes/, etc.). The buttons still seem to work, but since it is white I have no idea what I am clicking. This means I cannot save an image before having to force quit the program. I never used to get this problem.

Updating the drive only seemed to keep it at bay for a bit longer. I got the white out issue again today, so this is another person adding to the list that updating is not fixing the problem.

I couldn't stand the problem anymore, so I formatted my HD and reinstalled Maverick s, ACS6 and the latest Wacom driver leaving my mac clean of anything else. I have been working for five days without any issues at all. Yesterday I installed Flash Player, and today the blank menus are back.

Maybe it is a coincidence that I just installed Flash, but just in case...

Please, like many other users I would also appreciate a solution as soon as possible for, as it is now Photoshop is useless for profesional use and is creating serious problems and making us waste valuable time.

Thanks.

Exactly the same issue here.
I've tried creating a clean user account, with nothing installed except Photoshop and Bridge CC, and the apps that were pre-installed.

There seemed to be no problems, until I installed my Wacom Intuos 4. Blank menus almost instantly. Installing the latest driver didn't help. With the new driver installed, it only takes a tad longer before the blank menus appear.

When I disconnect my Wacom and restart PS, it seems that I can work without the menus getting blank. I have not tried it extensively, but today I was able to work for 2 hours straight without getting blank menus.
But then again, when I can use only the mouse to edit photos, what's usually 30 minutes work now takes me 3-4 times as long.

I hope this will be fixed soon, because I'm really having trouble meeting my deadlines at the moment!
