P: Every action/brush stroke causes spinny wheel with “Enable Content Credentials (Beta)” enabled

Hi
Ever since the last update yesterday, everytime I make a brush stroke I get the spinning wheel (indicating a lag in proccessing I guess). As I am an illustrator using Photoshop and make lots of brush strokes, this is stalling the progress of painting. Can I get a fix for this, or can I revert back to the previous version?

I manage to grab this short video from my iPhone showing the cursor problem.

Need a quick fix if possible

Thanks

Rob

Hi @Rob Art Illustration ,

Here are suggestions from Adobe.

Search for brushes. There are a couple of troubleshooting tips from them.

Let us know how you go.

Hi again

None of those suggestions basically help. Mainly as of yesterday it was working as expected and only after the update it had this issue. I have a high spec iMac that runs well with all the software, and all the settings in Photoshop have not changed.

The update is the issue.

OK, I did some more tests with changing the performance, and also switching of Graphics card option, all had same affect. Busy cursor icon for a few seconds.
I also tried several other tools, and they all result in the busy cursor.

OK

So, after some talking with Tech Support via Facebook, I have managed to locate the issue and resolved it.
Basically if you tick the box for "Enable Content Credentials (Beta)" the issue occurs, if you click it off all works fine.
Hopefully this will get resolved in the next update.

Thanks

Anything different about your setup? M1 Mac? Wacom or other tablet?

I don't know what's behind it, but today I switched to version 2022 and at this point I'm annoyed. I started a project I was doing on my 7 year old laptop, on my desktop computer. And I started to get anxious. The poster is 70x100 cm and I feel like I'm working on meters. Simply switching between the magnifying glass (Z) and the move tool (V) makes the cursor and the whole program work as if I were performing some complicated action. I don't change anything, I don't move anything, I just change tools and for 2-3 seconds the program doesn't know what is happening. On the laptop everything is ok. I moved the project from the cloud to disk, but I still have 'lag'.

Which options should I disable in order for the program to work properly on my 25K hardware?

If you go to this Preference pane, is Content Credentials enabled? I've seen similar behavior to what you're showing when that is enabled.

You've hit the jackpot! When I installed and fired up the program for the first time, I turned on this option in the settings to see how it worked. After restarting it was already lagging the program. I turned the option off again and restarted the application and it's ok now. Hopefully not temporarily, but for good 😄 Thanks.

Sad to say the latest update has not fixed the issue with the "Enable Content Credentials (Beta)".
Please try and fix as I want to use on my work.

I recently upgraded to macOS Monterey / Photoshop Version 23.1 . Since then I'm getting the spinning wheel with dots while using any of the photoshop tools or brushes. Wasn't happening before the update. I'm working on a Mac Pro 2019 3.5 GHz 8 Core Intel Xeon W / Memory 96 GB / Graphics card AMD Radeon Pro 580 X 8 GB. I do work on large files (36"X 48"@ 300dpi_working file around 3GB in size ) but have not had this problem before. Any suggestions?

Even with the latest two updates, there are no changes in this bug.

Not sure if it's a performance issue with the graphic card, etc.

It's a problem with the Content Credentials implementation. The team that's developing the feature is working on it. It's still a Beta feature.
