P: Floating document windows in fullscreen w/menu bar causes window to jump to center

With the new release, the zooming mechanism has changed and it always behaves as if "Zoom Clicked Point to Center" was turned on when I am using keyboard shortcut (mapped to Wacom Pen). It works as expected when I'm zooming with scroll wheel.

Hej Hannah,

thank you guy for your support & the solution today. I think it solved the issue with the floating Screen somehow, but... something new is happening 😕😕
I think it depends if I work “with“ or “without“ the graphic-card-support and/or the Application-Frame On/Off (just on MAC).
I am using PS on a MacBookPro here with a Nvidacard on 2screens. I always work in PS on the bigger 2nd screen which is a Wacom-Cintiq:

1. I open a PSD-file here (a test-file orange/yellow)
2. it opens in the upper-left corner – ok so far!
3. i changed the screen-mode (F), and...
4. the the hole canvas appears in a small rectangle in the upper-left corner and the other 3/4 of the canvas is just black and not useable?!! (see screenshot)

...thats absolutely useless here. When i switch OFF the graphic-card-support is seams to work fine in the frameless PS. Or i have to switch the PS-Application-Frame ON to use the graphic-card-support again. But use “graphic“ and “frameless“ at the same time it cause this new issue?!

This was not an issue in CC2017!

– help?!

Hey Everyone!

I am happy to announce that this issue should be resolved in the release of Photoshop that just went live, 19.1. Please open your Creative Cloud desktop app, update Photoshop and give us feedback.

Thank you!
Hannah

When in Full-Screen View Mode or Full-Screen with Menu Bar, Photoshop now moves the canvas (auto-centers or is returning to previous position) every time a layer is selected after the canvas has been moved.

To replicate:

Switch to Full-Screen or Full-Screen with Menu-Bar view mode...

Just selecting a layer...
1. Move canvas
2. Select another layer.
4. Canvas moves.

Jumping in and out of app.
1. Move canvas.
2. Switch to another app (cmd-tab or however...)
3. Switch back to Photoshop...
4. Canvas moves.

While Zooming.
1. Zoom in beyond canvas edges [with Animated Zoom enabled],
 - a. using zoom (Z) , a targeted zoom based on cursor position.,
 - b. using keyboard (cmd+), move canvas off-center before zooming.
2. Zoom out, far enough to expose canvas edges...
3. Witness your canvas snap to center.
4. Zoom in beyond canvas edges again.
5. Now watch it snap center on the new position...

Chase your canvas. Every. Time. Highly irritating. This was not how it previously functioned. Please fix this. Was this intentional, is it an option that can be turned off??
