Thank you for the response, I understand what you mean by "Pre-Opening" files. Do you sue Adobe Bridge or an explorer type file view? If not, why not?

Are these Photographic edits only?

If so, then one could save more time and apply edits to all files more easily, at once, in something like Lightroom Classic. 

* Not saying right or wrong here. Obviously you are welcome to work as you like in Photoshop, and as you point out, the technology stack over time can have welcome/unwelcome effect on our workflows.

I never need it bridge. Lightroom doesn't have healing and other retouch options. I edit first in lr for color and basic stuff, then ps. Like in fashion portrait, if i decide some colors that i can do only in ps i can easy apply those colors to multiple images and after that to retouch on what i need on each image.

Lightroom/Camera Raw are one in the same.

I believe it is an undervalued tool that addresses many creative tasks. For example, when I create projects that have 32-100+ pages of art, I value system memory / efficiency over opening multiple files ( beyond 5 or 6.) I just click on the Bridge thumbnail to open file. In addtioion, to looking at color corrrections or color themes in totality over 10,20... 60 pages at a time. 

It is a tradeoff on what it takes to get the job done.

I know but i never use it for what is intended to be used it. I look on lr if anything is good, export then import in ps and go from ther, I don't need it. I use lr for basic stuff and ps for retouching. Cloning gradients and so on, also ps on texture is not that great which gives me a pain to edit textures and if a image has noise also a big problem. I did use it when lr didn't had panorama and hdr but afer a while i use it ps directly and then lr had those options too.

I will create a video screenshot with voice naration what am i doing and when the bugs are encountering. But until then, the latest version of Photoshop downgraded number of images loaded at once at 20. After that number, no matter the size of the images, no matter do file format of the images, starts to get chopy and, for example polygonal laso, or free tranform lines stay freezed even though the cursor is not on that posiotion any more. The interesting thing is that, even though i load more then 50 images for example, when enter the liquify windows, over there everything is smooth. but when i return to photoshop image widnows, it continues to be chopy during zooms
When i manage to create a video about it, i will exaplain why i also need to upload up to 100 images and why there is no other way to edit them, or maybe there is but it is more complicated. Also, I didnt have those issues with the photshop 2020 with the same hardware.

Same problem here, both draging more than 25 files into photoshop as per video in first post, also "edit in photoshop" from lightroom contextual menu causes the issue. Seems to be related to quantity of files opened rather the amount of memory used as issue is present with both 25 2.5MB jpegs and 25 45MB Tiff files. Task manager says 4.3Gb/8.0GB GPU memory used.

Not at this time, it is still a work in progress but will be addressed.

We considered a patch-fix but the work had some risks, the better solution will take more time.

We looked at allowing more windows to be open with a spot fix, but it was not meant to be. We want to fix it properly and that requires more time and testing of various configurations.

Can this please get sorted soon? I thought I was the only one experiencing it. I have ryzen 5950x, 64gb ram and 2070 super. I used to be able to open 50+ PSD files without issue until last year. This is necessary for a stop motion workflow or big e-commerce photography job and it pains me to not have scrubby zoom work past 25 images. I notice my v-ram is almost maxed out with 25~ ish photos open too and low normal ram use. Why is this still not fixed? You cant do these workflows in bridge or lightroom, its purely photoshop, actions, and layer work that we copy across and fine tune, tab, and then close all and save all

For some of us with NVIDIA cards, this it just opening Photoshop or one document and Photoshop reverts to or only recognizes the Intel card and makes Photoshop freeze or hang. So it's not just people with 23 or 45 images open. Please scan other forum posts. People are posting at Dell and other sites as well. 

I've had to download Affinity Photo to meet client deadlines. I'd prefer the Photoshop and Creative Cloud I am paying for.

It isn't my NVIDIA card. Tests fine. It isn't Windows, no missing or corrupt files. It isn't my Photosohop needing updates and needing any driver or Windows updates. I suspect there is some conflict there between Adobe products and NVIDIA cards of all sorts. The common denominator is the combo of Adobe and NVIDIA.
