P: Lighting Effects does not work directly after upgrade macOS and Windows

Photoshop: Lighting Effects does not work  directly after upgrade  in PS 21.0. macOS and Windows

Further to the last updating of PS 21.0.0, this filter does not work any more.
None of the allowing cursors of it was changed not function, it is a huge decline since PS 20.x where he worked very well on pictures 8 as well direct bits as in smartobject!

Workarund :

Priorities, performances, it is necessary to check legacy Priorities, to restart PS, to test the filter, then they will be able to come back in priority by default which is this shot hut, they restart PS and my time, to me this works now correctly.

I was seeing the same thing. I restored my prefs and seems to be working correctly now. Can you try moving your preferences file out and too the desktop and see if it works again for you?

In V21 - GPU rendering is working incorrectly. The infinite light is reversed so shows black where the light falls and lighter in the shadows.

Test file available if required

Ray tracing works as expected and shows the scene correctly

Not sure why my post has been merged as my issue is with 3D preview rendering (although I do have the lighting effects issue also).
Preference reset and GPU driver update did not resolve the 3D issue

This only worked once for me. The second time I try to use lighting effects all I saw was a black screen (but it did show the handles)

Lighting effects still does not work here.  I've tried resetting preferences among other things like default GPU settings and tried legacy composite  with no difference.  So i have to flop between PS 2020 and 2019 since i do use some of the new features in 2020 and find it more stable but having no lighting effects after this long is  unacceptable.  crazy.  Anyone actually find a real workaround on windows?

NARROWED DOWN ISSUE IN REGARDS TO LIGHTING EFFECTS  ** Now Adobe Can You Fix it? **
ANSWER: Uncheck Show Transform Controls & Restart PS2020

Issue it resolves:
When going into lighting effects you get nothing but a black screen no matter what and the only thing that works is the ambient lighting up and down.

Fix:
Unselect "Show Transform Controls" then  reset.

Steps i took:
Fresh install of PS 21.02 and GPU drivers 441.66

Made sure the directory of the settings was removed (AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2020\Adobe Photoshop 2020 Settings)

Fired up PS and lighting effects worked.  The second i check the box on the menu "Show Transform Controls" the lighting effects stopped working.  By checking it again they still don't work.  You have to uncheck it and restart PS.  I've gone setting by setting until i found that one that makes it not work.  Going back to my old settings that didn't work all i had to do was uncheck the Transform controls restart and it works with all my settings but for that one.  That's a pretty important one as well.  I need that! 🙂

So it has something to do with the "Show Transform Controls"  The Show Layers is fine just the Controls.

Oh and has nothing to do with GPU.  I was able to resolve it with this workaround on many workstations with old and new drivers.  Its an Adobe issue clearly.

Ma routine :

1. Reset des préférences de PS
2. Création d'un document A4 8bits
3. Dessin d'un rectangle verctoriel
4. Conversion en objet dynamique
5. Lancement du filtre "Rendu / éclairages...

1. Je fais maintenant aucune modification des paramétrages de PS, rien du côté des profils de couleur !
2. J'édite un fichier depuis LR (Cmd+E)
3. Je confirme que je conserve le profil de couleur de l'image éditée, sinon PS affiche une image très pâle.
4. Je convertis l'image en 8bits.
5. Je lance le filtre et ça fonction, évidement le message concernant le profil de couleur de JBL.tiff s'affiche de nouveau !!!
   
   

Alors maintenant à vous de chercher quel paramètre que nous pouvons modifié annule le bon fonctionnement de ce filtre.

1. Je ferme PS et l'ouvre à nouveau et ça ne fonctionne plus !!!!!

Après avoir supprimer PS de mon ordinateur tout en conservant mes paramètres personnels, je ne veux pas tout perdre..., redémarré celui-ci, il semble que Lighting effects fonctionne, mais il serait temps de nous faire un mode d'emploi digne de ce nom, pas une simple vidéo de JKost de 3 minutes !

Finalement, ça ne fonctionne pas sur macOS 10.15.3, Radeon Pro 575X 4 Go, et PS 20.1.0, impossible de mettre en place les effets, les curseurs ne modifie rien au niveau de l'éclairage, ce filtre est complétement cassé ! Ou faites nous un mode d'emploi exhaustif de ce filtre impossible à maitriser !
N'oubliez pas que nous payons un abonnement pour ça !

Further to all dysfunction of PS 21.1.0,
macOS 10.15.3, PS 21.1.0, I took back version 21.0.3 and everything works again!!!

Not sure how you came to the conclusion this was fixed.   It has not been addressed at all even.  The problem thinking this is fixed is because people will install the latest version and since Adobe can't get their #@$%^ together you must reset all your preferences to start fresh for things to work right.  By doing this the lighting effects "works" but not really.  The second you change some settings like the very important "Show Transform Controls" then lighting effects no longer work.  This behavior is exactly what i had already referenced in the earlier minor versions of 21.x

So how much longer should i have to wait until it works.  Do i have to continue to pay a subscription for all these new features that break the product?  I have done this install on multiple win1o machines and can reproduce this issue on every one.
