Love the multiple path selection tool in Photoshop CC, but is there a way to *not* include invisible & locked layers?

I can't believe this is still a bug that has gone unfixed. I mean really - professional software shouldn't have this kind of bug in a public release, let alone continue to be a bug this long

I can't use the photoshop CC. The hidden and locked layers not selectible with auto-select, but layers in hidden or locked folders is selectible. It's really big problem

Can we please have an update when this will be fixed. If a layer is hidden or locked the user obviously doesn't want to be manipulating it so it shouldn't be selected!
This has decreased the usability of photoshop SOOO MUCH and needs to be fixed ASAP!!

Please adobe reply with an expected fix time!

We are a publicly traded company, we cannot announce many things like that.

But, as already stated, we are aware of the bug and working on a fix.

Fixing and testing takes time, because the idea is that you don't release public versions with obvious major bugs like these. Yet you do. Let's see what bugs we have at the moment:

1. Basic selection features broken.
2. Character panel completely useless once text is transformed.

Who tested that before releasing it? This is not how fixing and testing is supposed to work.

We have prerelease testers that do test these things, but sometimes bugs slip through - developers and testers are human, too.

Same problem. This coupled with the Vector Direct Selection tool update is making all the bug fixes from CS6 not worth it.

When I drag and select multiple layers with the move tool, auto-select is selecting my hidden and locked layers. This is driving me nuts and I haven't been able to find any info on the problem.

This is a real problem and is slowing down my work flow!!! New grate products as they where presented by Adobe, should not have that kind of Problems!!!!

This should be fixed from day 1 !!!

Thinking of going back to Photoshop CS6 but i am a Creative Cloud Member and i am paying for CC to!!!

Adobe has to fix this since it is a problem for a lot of paying users!!!!

I currently can't work on any website mockups, which contain folders for each mockup / layout, because I can't properly select things. How can such a major bug be overlooked?

This bug has to be fixed. I cannot get any work done while the select tool is selecting everything EXCEPT the layer I want to work with. This is disasterous for my productivity and my business.

Chris, we understand this but this is such a fundamental flaw that it warrants keeping us updated. I just deleted about 500+ layers in a web mockup by mistake because the select tool was picking up all hidden layers below it, and it's too late to get them back. Please keep us informed at least on how this progresses since it's so critical.

Right now I'm right clicking on layers and selecting the folder group they belong to rather than using the select tool. It's a small workaround for anyone else who is stuck with this problem, but you can't do complex selections that way, and it's not a fix.

I really hope a solution is pushed out immediately, it's been over a month since CC launched and this is a huge counterproductive flaw.

Same problem. I think the problem is that if you lock or hide a certain group, then use the auto select tool, it treats the layers inside the group as visible/unlocked. If you explicitly lock or hide each individual layer then i do not get the same problem.

Definitely seems like a bug.

PS is functionally broken, the simple as that.
