P: Moving Around Workspace causing screen glitching & green background on macOS

So I just downloaded the new 2023 version of Photoshop. Photoshop told me that if I did not have the latest version of MacOS there could be some performance issues, so I made sure everything was up to date and downloaded the latest MacOS. However, now whenever I move around my workspace in Photoshop my screen glitches and I get weird green flashes that make it next to impossible to work.

Zooming in and out using the trackpad/mouse causes this, as well as just moving left, right, up, and down. I purged my cache and still the same issue. Restarted Photshop and my computer, still the same issue.

Someone please help as I have a lot of work to do!

Leider trillt das Problem alle paar Stunden arbeit mitz Photoshop immer wieder auf. Jetzt blinkgt der Monitor nicht mehre rot sondern grün, sonst wieder die gleichen Probleme.

Ich führe jedes mal ihren Ratschlag durch und es funktioniert dann erstmal wieder, bis das Problem ein paar Stunden später wieder auftritt.

Gibt es eine dauerhafte Lösung?

This fixed the issue for me as well. Thank you for this workaround. Fingers crossed, it fixes it long-term until PS fixes the compatibility with Ventura.

Photoshop 2023 in Mac Ventura 13.0.1

I keep getting a flashing yellow screen when there is a load on the system, such as moving a mouse, saving a file, etc. Shown in attached film. This did not appear in Photoshop 2022 or in non-Ventura OS.

that looks a bit like a problem with the System itself (Graphics Driver maybe?!). I assume that all System Updates are present so far?! Hope that helps.

Yes, all drivers are updated and just checked. Many thanks for the suggestion, which I will raise via Apple, as it only appeared with upgrading to Ventura 13.01.1.

1 - Green screen is seen on every photo I open.
I have to minimize it and then it still is green, as I edit it, or do anything in Photoshop.

MAJOR pain to work with.

2 - It is REALLY SLOW, and reacts terribly.

I am using two monitors. It use to work just fine before 2023 update.
I have quit, reset preferences and turned off the “use graphic GPU” selection as suggested.

Try to recalibrate and build a new ICC display profile; the old one might be corrupted. If you are using software/hardware for this task, be sure the software is set to build a matrix, not LUT profile, Version 2, not Version 4 profile.

We're working with Apple to resolve this issue.

To workaround this issue, click the green dot on the app frame to resize the application frame to fit the new monitor.

Or, go to Preferences > Technology Previews... and check "Disable Native Canvas" - then restart Photoshop.

This occurs when the application frame is larger than the monitor it is being displayed on. This can happen when you're running Photoshop on an external monitor that is larger than the monitor on a laptop. When you disconnect the larger monitor, the app frame is hanging off the edge of the screen.

When you toggle view mode using the Tab key, you image goes offscreen, and when you try to zoom in, or move it around it gets glitchy until you either toggle the view again, or show the options bar.

This is happening in Photoshop version 24.0, and 24.0.1

Does it work correctly?

If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back.

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

Do you ever have an external monitor attached to this machine? If you click the green resize window button on the app frame or if you quit a restart Photoshop, does it start to work correctly?

@Mark-Sweeney , if you turn off Automatic graphics switching in system battery preferences, does the problem go away?

@Mark-Sweeney , @J453 helped track down the cause; if you float any of the application frame outside your main monitor where Photoshop is, you can trigger the green. If you maximize the app, or bring the app frame fully withinn the main monitor, the green should be gone.

Another workaround for now is to Deactivate the Native Canvas (in Preferences > Technology Preview), also correcting the issue.

Deactivate the Native Canvas, or Turn off Graphics Processor fixes the glitching problem, however I lose flick panning when I do that.

This only happens Photoshop 24 (2023) and up.

Is that a macOS Ventura Beta of 13.1?

It's the 13.1 Release Candidate. I'm an Apple Developer so I have early access to it. However, Photoshop was doing the same thing with13.0.1
