P: Photoshop can't open, freezes on splash image, uses all of ram trying to open then crashes.

I have googled every possible variation of this problem and tried every fix for this problem, none of them worked. I have tried reinstalling photoshop, deleting everything even remotely related to photohop in the appdata, deleting custom fonts, restarting the computer, updating graphics and computer, and holding every possible combination of alt, ctrl and shift while trying to launch in administrator mode. The result is always the same. It opens the splash image, gets to loading preferences or brushes, spikes RAM usage to every last byte of RAM I have, freezes the computer, then crashes.

And no i'm not running it on a potato i'm running it on an Alienware Aurora 4090, it should have more than enough power to handle this and Photoshop ran perfectly fine for months. Then just today it crashed and has never started up again.

Photoshop version 25.11

UPDATE

We identified a problem with a recent Adobe update that caused Photoshop and several other Adobe beta apps to fail to launch. We’ve released an updated installer to fix this problem. Please download and install the latest Creative Cloud beta applications. This update should resolve the launch issue.

Thanks,

Cory - Photoshop Product Manager

Hey, I solved the problem!!! Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool to remove all the BETA applications... ALL of them.

To all of those worried of doing the Clean All. I did not lose my Photoshop presets. I was ready to lose them because of a deadline I couldn't miss, but happy to still find them after erasing everything and re-installing Photoshop.

Can somebody help me, please?

Since this morning PS does not start anymore.

Before, I did delete "Lightroom Catalog 2-v10-v11 Previews lr.data" at C:, did transfer it to D: and could work perfect. After the system was running without mistakes, I did delete it from D:.

Was that my mistake?

I did deinstall and reinstall PS twice.

Bonjour,

@skatemodus try manually resetting your Photoshop preferences

Remember to back up your settings before doing the preference reset

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I use a beta version for Photoshop, but it's not only Photoshop which fails, its also Illustrator and Indesign. Do you think that the beta version of Photoshop I installed could be the cause of the bug of Illustrator and Photoshop ?

you can add Illustrator 2024 to the list of Adobe Applications NOT working, it hangs on startup as well. So now I can no longer do my job. I use Photoshop and Illustrator and NEITHER ARE WORKING???

Hey as I click on Photoshop it starts processing but then suddenly it stuck and then it starts consuming all my RAM and then a black screen comes and everything shuts down

The same thing happens again and again

if you can see it you'll better get to know the issue

it is really serious for me My work has been pending for the past 24 hours

I am already using the latest version

Also tried different versions
then I saw my Illustrator had the same issue

all other apps are working smoothly

Add Indesign 2024 to the list of Adobe programs not loading and hanging at start-up. This is beyond frustrating and costing me my employment as I have come to trust and use these programs exclusively. What a shocker.
