[WARN] WGudeRequest::applyAutoDetectProxyAutoConfigSettings Failed to autodetect proxy settings. WinHTTP Unable To Download Script. last error code = 12167

I have the same problem but with Illustrator:

WGudeRequest::applyAutoDetectProxyAutoConfigSettings Failed to autodetect proxy settings. The operation completed successfully

Repeated a lot of times! Still no fix available?

Hello,
I am here because I have the same problem. My entire computer is now spammed with those annoying LOG files! I've already found the threat. Unfortunately, there is no solution, just a note that the development will take care of it.
But that's the status for 4 months now. PLEASE do something!

The Files gets created during the start-up phase, inside the folder where the picture is saved that I want to open.

The content, on the other hand, is not written until I close Photoshop again.2022-09-01 21_10_52-C__Users_gebru_Downloads_1.2.752.24.7.1311332409.91700824.png2022-09-01 21_12_39-Notepad++.png

It seems that a lot of people are still experiencing this "GUDE*.log" file problem and for a long time. FWIW, there are reports of it happening in other Adobe products as well.

I noticed that there is a GUDE folder located in the %Appdata%\Adobe folder structure where I found two other GUDE*.log files and a "sqliteResumeTransfer.db" file. My own experience with this isssue is that the file is created "only" when I double-click a PSD file to open it. Right-clicking on the file and then selecting Photoshop from the "Open with..." submenu does not create the log file, or any other method of opening the file for that matter. (Currently running Ps v23.5.1)

Still dealing with the issue of Photoshop (23.5.1) on Win10 (21H2) creating a gude.xxx file when opening files, right? In my opinion this is an error message indicating that Photoshop cannot connect to a server.
Solution for me: Don't let Microsoft automatically search for PROXY servers. Path: Settings/Network and Internet/Proxy/Automatically detect settings - OFF. Photoshop does not create gude.xxx. Why? No idea.

Unglaublich!!!!

actually, the last reply by an adobe official has been on may 18, 2022 since the reply to @Peppermintpatty0's post on jul 05, 2022 wasn't related to this specific issue - which of course doesn't make it any better whatsoever...!!!

sadly, adobe appears to have lost their interest in following or solving this issue or at least responding to this community....

From what I understand, this problem occurs when blocking Photoshop or Illustrator in the windows firewall;
It also occurs when "cc-api-data.adobe.io" is blocked in the "hosts" table;
Without these two locks, I notice that the problem of generating files "gude-XXXX-XX-XX.log", is solved.

I experience this issue now since a few days with Photoshop. Working on a file in Photoshop creates the gude-YYYY-MM-DD-log file. If I work worked on file in a cloud folder I'm getting every few sconds a ping sound and a message that this file couldn't be synced. This is extremely annoying! Neither closing the file or Photoshop removes the log file.

It is also very important to note that this happens in photoshop too. Highly frustrating, on the level of that of some viruses. You place a file in every folder that you access. Might want to make this one top priority, as it takes 2 lines of code to stop it from happeneing.

Hello all,

It seems I may have found an alternative solution.

Disabling proxy auto settings and changing default program for impacted files (.psd or .ai) seems to have worked for me.

For my case, changing .psd default program and setting it back again has done the trick for me.

I don't know if both actions have made it possible or it's the proxy setting change.

Good luck all.

I have been getting the gude-xxx.log files for quite some time now, and I keep hoping someone will come up with a fix. Typical of the files is this one:

18:46:17:032 [WARN] Request Failed. ErrorCode: 112007 errorMessage: Platform Status, Send Request Failed. WinHTTP Name Not Resolved. last error code = 12007
18:53:30:026 [WARN] Request Failed. ErrorCode: 112007 errorMessage: Platform Status, Send Request Failed. WinHTTP Name Not Resolved. last error code = 12007

What may be different about my situation is that for safety I typically run Photoshop without the computer being networked. That is, Wi-fi is turned off and the hard-wired ethernet cable is unplugged.

Is there currently a cure for this that I have missed? Are we waiting for test results or something?
