Hi,

After updating Photoshop CC to 22.5.0 I'm facing the problem you see in the attached jpg whenever I resize an image.

Clearing preferences, uninstalling and re-installing photoshop didn't do the trick...

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Simply downgrade to earlier version and it will be solved. Update in future when this issue is taken care of. Enabling the option Deactivate Native Canvas is making the scroll wheel zoom very snappy.

I feel there was a pop up about converting to vectors which I really dind't pay that much attention back then,

But now every time I start a new file this happens (refer to video).

I reinstalled photoshop I'm using 2021 on Catalina 10.15.17.

Photoshop 2021

Mac 10.15.7 Catalina

Open photoshop and do just about anything.

The entire board outside of the artboard does this. You can't really tell where you edges are etc.

It doesn't seem to actually do anything bad to the file, but makes working terrible.

I have the exact same issue with the exact same equipment, just a little more Memory....

Photoshop - Version 22.5.0
macOS Catalina - Version 10.15.17
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020)
3,8 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i7
72 GB 2667 MHZ DDR4
AMD Radeon Pro 5500 XT 8 GB

How did you update the driver on the AMD Radeon Pro 5500 XT 8GB? When I go to the AMD website, I don't see any options to update the driver for an iMac. So I tried to click the "Deactivate Native Canvas" option, and Photoshop just chugged, there was a super annoying delay whenever I resized my brush or moved the canvas around. (and yes, I remembered to restart Photoshop whenever I made a change)

So... I reverted back to Photoshop Version 22.4.3 and it works perfectly with no issues. So, that means the issue is 22.5.0

Hi there,

I have auto-update on and it's been fairly seemless process barring a few issues in the past.  🙂
Today, it's been a pain with several issues since the update to PS 22.05.

1.  There is this ghosing that appears on the medium and dark grey bg.

Screenshot 2021-09-13 at 12.58.18.png

2.  Although no ghosting like #1 appears on light grey bg but when I move the image, it leaves this pixelated trail behind.

Screenshot 2021-09-13 at 13.05.06.png

3.  All the images are opening in a reduced window than showing the full image.  I looked through the forum/discussions and Adobe said they've fixed this bug in PS 19 but seems it's reappreared.

Screenshot 2021-09-13 at 15.23.37.png

I look forward to getting your help in resolving these issues swiftly.

Thanks,

Quick note to Jeff Tranberry and the Adobe tech team trying to solve this particular problem.

While there are a number of different Mac configurations that are seeing this particular error, there is a statistically significant portion of them that are happening on iMacs equipped with Radeon Pro 5500 XT series graphics cards.

Along with my own machine, I have seen this in close to a dozen other similarly configured iMacs as well as the numerous reports in this conversation. Perhaps this is a clue as to what is going on with the GPU based glitches? Just thought I'd offer that data point to the conversation.

Like most, I have rolled back to the previous version as the "disable native canvas" trick only offered partial relief from the issue.

Thanks Mohit.

That was a quick response and a bug fix.
There is a issue regarding images opening in a cropped view still remaining
with this update.
See below for the example

I would like the images to open at full view/fit to screen mode when
opening as it's always been until the last 2 updates.

Please help to resolve this issue.

Thanks,

Kiran

Unfortunately the 22.5.1 fix created more issues. First launch caused a kernel panic. After rebooting the second launch worked and the canvas artefacting is gone. However, the program freezes on quit reliably. I have rolled back to 22.4.3 until I have time for more extensive testing.

Yep! I did exactly the same and went back to 22.4.3.
But my workspace won't show in the dropdown menu. I imported it from my
saved location and I can see it in the Library folders but can't see it in
the dropdown menu within PS.
Do you have any idea how I can restore my original workspace?

Thanks

UPDATE: After completely uninstalling 22.5.1, cold booting, and reinstalling it seems to be running without issue. So far no more kernel panics.

Hi,

Can anyone help me fix a problem that has occurred with my version of Photoshop purchased this year.

My workspace background is no longer clear grey but holds a partially pixelated shadow of the last image edited.  This does not seem to affect the editing process but the visual distortion to the area around the image I am working on is distracting and irritating.

Screenshot attached.

I have tried closing down Photoshop completely and restarting but distortion to the workspace remains.

I am running the same version of Photoshop on 2 Macs running Mojave and Catalina respectively.  The problem has occurred on the Mac running Catalina.

Any help and advice much appreciated
