MacOS Sequoia 15

Photoshop 2024 and Photoshop (Beta)

Top menu not working after opening camera raw filter from Photoshop, making an edit and going back to Photoshop.

Steps to reproduce
Open an image in Photoshop, make edits as usual

Select Filter > Camera Raw Filter

Make an edit, like adding a Vignette
Click OK to go back to image
Click on any item in the top menu - nothing is clickable

Must force quit application and reopen for menu items to be clickable again

ok, I think I found a trick to unlock photoshop menus. After opening camera raw and going back, I clicked on the "library" item in the right panel and the menus magically unlocked... or before starting camera raw go to "library" and once you go back the menus worka.pngexpand image

Hi All! While the team is investigating this, please use this quick workaround when you see this issue.

  • Simply press CMD + TAB to focus away from Photoshop and into any other application, then return to Photoshop.

Let us know if this helps. Thanks!

If it helps with diagnosis, I find I can open one image in Camera Raw and return to Photoshop without menus freezing but a second image will freeze the menus every time. It makes no difference whether I complete the edit in Camera Raw with 'open' 'done' or 'cancel'.

Bonjour,

Aidez moi svp

Je suis sur MAC.

Merci

This problem is happening again.  Top Menu bar, no responses.  I am running on Mac OS Sequoia.  I de-installed the PS software, saved my preferences, re-installed 26.1.0 then restarted PS.  The issue continues.

Hi, having the same issue where the menu freezes after using liquify but navigating away from photoshop and then back doesn't seem to fix it. Restarting photoshop is the only fix I've found.

Quick Fix:

Simply press Command + Shift + A to reopen the Camera Raw Filter. Once it opens, close it by clicking Cancel or OK.

The top menu will now work again without needing to force quit Photoshop.

I went through all the steps to wipe out all thing Adobe and reinstall which did fix the problem but then they updated Camera Raw.  Now it's back to not allowing me to use the Photoshop menu bar after being in Camera Raw.  Removing preferences DOES NOT fix this problem.

Please find a viable solution as this is beyond irritating to have to CTRL S to save then completely close Photoshop.

It's becoming ridiculous that three months and several updates to Photoshop later we are still left with a bug which renders Photoshop unuseable for anything more than a single image at a time. I've used Photoshop since the introduction of layers and have never known anything as bad as this.

I'm starting to wonder if there isn't an agreement between Adobe and Apple to encourage owners of Macs with Intel chips to switch to a Mac with Apple chips!

Hello,

I would like to report a persistent bug in Photoshop that has been present across several versions.

Currently, I am using Adobe Photoshop (Beta) version 26.3.0, but I have also experienced this issue in the stable release of Adobe Photoshop.

Here are my system details:

  • Computer: MacBook Pro (2.6 GHz Intel Core i7, 6-core)
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon Pro 5300M (4 GB) and Intel UHD Graphics 630 (1536 MB)
  • Memory: 16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4
  • Operating System: macOS Sonoma, version 14.6.1

Description of the issue:
After using the AI feature for background extension, the main Photoshop text menu (File | Edit | Image | Layer, etc.) becomes unresponsive. Clicking the menu does not display any submenu options, rendering it unusable.

Please let me know if further information is needed.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I tried to reply earlier but my post didn't appear. Trying again.

I can confirm that as long as the libraries palette is visible the menus remain working here. This is the first significant step forward.

I've found that as long as Libraries is made visble once per session either upon starting Photoshop or after a freeze, no further freezes will occur in that session. I can open further images normally without Libraries being open.

Since I have updated to Photoshop 2025 on my MacBook Pro, my toolbar at the top of my screen glitches and does not allow me to click buttons like "File", "Edit", or "Photoshop 2025". Everytime I update my computer or photoshop it still happens.  I notice that the toolbar is frozen because the right side tools like the time, batter, WiFi, bluetooth, etc has disappeared. If I go to a different application like chrome or Finder, the toolbar works just fine. Is this happening to anyone else and found a solution?

Sounds like this confirmed bug:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-bugs/p-ps-25-12-on-macos-15-menu-buttons-wont-wor...

What works for me to get the Menu Bar functioning again with Photoshop 2025 (ps ver 26.2) on a 2015 MacBook Pro with macOS Sonoma 14.7.2 is switching to another Adobe application like Bridge and then back to Photoshop.

Hey, I'm having a problem with Photoshop menu bar. When I enter and confirm the Camera Raw Filter or Liquify filter, Photoshop's top menu becomes inactive and blurred. At the same time, the Apple menu bar in the upper right becomes invisible. Just after closing and opening Photoshop the problem is fixed. I attached a screenshot.

I hope there is someone who had the same problem and solved it.
