Steps to reproduce
Open an image in Photoshop, make edits as usual

ok, I think I found a trick to unlock photoshop menus. After opening camera raw and going back, I clicked on the "library" item in the right panel and the menus magically unlocked... or before starting camera raw go to "library" and once you go back the menus worka.pngexpand image

Hi All! While the team is investigating this, please use this quick workaround when you see this issue.

  • Simply press CMD + TAB to focus away from Photoshop and into any other application, then return to Photoshop.

Let us know if this helps. Thanks!

Since September 2024, menu bar at the top of my MacBook Pro keeps crashing in Photoshop.
My MacBook is up-to-date and in Premiere I have no problems so far. Several times I've had tips like reinstalling the entire Adobe package and then it went fine for a while but then suddenly it crashes again.
I am running the latest update of Adobe 26.2
Adobe must have a solution for this, right?

Hi, I have a problem with the Photoshop application. After a few operations, the menu freezes. The tools work, but the menu doesn’t. What could be the issue? I'm using a MacBook Pro with an Intel UHD Graphics 630 graphics card. This started happening after the latest update. Previously, this only happened in the beta version.

Hi,
I also had a similar problem and I give you below the link that helped me.
It is still a strange story and I hope Adobe is able to solve this professionally.
The link is from John Waller.

@CMass No, this did not happen in any previous versions. It is still an issue with the most recent update.

The problem is that if your library panel is not visible, it cannot be enabled from the top-level menu. This is very frustrating when there is no way out!

That doesn't seem to be working. I wish this would be fixed already, it's been months.

After editing an image using the Camera Raw Filter (within the Filter menu), the top Photoshop menu bar on my Macbook Pro becomes unresponsive; I can't access any of the menus no matter what I do or where I click. At the same time, other app menus and the main Finder menu on my computer work fine. Once I go back into Photoshop, I can click around and use keyboard shortcuts but nothing happens when I click on the menu (File, Edit, Image, Layer, Filter, etc). I have the most up to date versions of Mac OS (Sequioa 15.2) and Photoshop 2025 (26.2.0). The only way around it is for me to quit Photoshop and relaunch it, but the menu becomes unusable again once I use the Camera Raw Filter so it's an endless cycle 😞

Have you tried resetting preferences? It can sometimes solve weird problems.

Gracias.

Try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps described here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#reset-preferences

It's recommended to backup your settings before resetting the preferences.

See here:  https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#backup-photoshop-preferences

If nothing works, reboot and try again.  I did and it worked for me the last time.  Good luck!

Today's update has fixed the bug here. I would like to express my appreciation to the member who discovered the Libraries workaround without which I would have been buggered.

When I open a second photo in Photoshop, the menus in the menu bar can no longer be opened by clicking on them. I have already completely removed Photoshop and reinstalled it, but this did not help.
What could be the cause of this?

The system data is in the attachment
