Any help in getting this fixed? I am having the same issue and I am losng patience! I had to uninstall the latest version because they said my current Sequioa Macbook Pro OS is not powerful enough to use the latest PS version. Well, I did that, went back to an older version and it worked for a bit, but I am now back to the same problems as you. It's crazy because this is a 2020 Macbook Pro, and my old 2015 Macbook Pro has no problems using the old version but my newer one does. I have never had a problem in PS like this before—I've reset preferences, called Adobe, uninstalled, reinstalled, etc., and I continue to have this issue—what is going on with Adobe's Creative Cloud apps? So many people having issues like this that make the program unusable. I'm about to ditch Adobe Creative Cloud altogether because I can't get any work done!

Hi CatB8,

I had no help in getting this fixed and I don't have a solution.

However, the problem stopped for me two days after it started. I could not tell you why.

Perhaps closing all your apps and restarting and updating enough could speed this up. I really have no clue as to the cause or the fix.

Sounds like this bug report:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-bugs/p-ps-25-12-on-macos-15-menu-buttons-wont-wor...

For me when the issue occurs, switching to another Adobe application like Adobe Bridge and then back to Photoshop seems to get the Menu Bar working again.

Today's update has fixed the bug here. I would like to express my appreciation to the member who discovered the Libraries workaround without which I would have been buggered.

When I open a second photo in Photoshop, the menus in the menu bar can no longer be opened by clicking on them. I have already completely removed Photoshop and reinstalled it, but this did not help.
What could be the cause of this?

The system data is in the attachment

It is January23, 2025 and I was having the worst experience with getting this problem (I've never had before), with the menu becoming inoperable, blurring out, and all that comes with the frustration of not being able to do the work you pay to do on this app.

The clicking on the "library" panel trick is the only thing that worked! I had called Adobe at least 4 times, we reset preferences, uninstalled the newest version, reinstalled the older one, and while that worked for a couple days, I was right back where I started.

I went through my 2019 Macbook Pro running Sequioa OS, with a fine-toothed comb with an Apple rep and my machine is in tip-top condition.

This appears to be a Camera Raw bug—at least, that is what seemed to cause the issues for me. So when I tried the "library panel" click trick, I first opened PS (reinstalled the latest 2025 version), and opened a regular Jpeg, then clicked on the library panel. After that, I was able to open my raw file and have now actually successfully edited a photo from start to finish—yay!

I really hope this is a permanent fix, and blessings to the person who suggested it!

I found a "click on the library panel" trick someone suggested on here and so, instead of opening a raw file when I fired up PS, I opened a Jpeg first, clicked on the library panel, and then opened and edited a raw file, using CR multiple times with zero issues the entire time. I finally got a photo edited from start to finish successfully! I really hope this is a permanent fix, and I have no idea why this worked, but it did, thank goodness!

The problem returned. Definitely linked to opening Camera Raw. It is a nightmare bug.

Just updated Photoshop and hopefully it is fixed. Will report back.

Menu Bar Freezing Issue in Photoshop on macOS

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with Photoshop 2025 on my MacBook. The top menu bar (e.g., File, Edit, etc.) becomes unresponsive, and the macOS menu bar on the right corner (system controls like Wi-Fi, battery, etc.) also disappears while using Photoshop. I have already tried the following steps to resolve the issue:

1. Updated Photoshop to the latest version.

2. Restarted macOS system processes (e.g., Dock and SystemUIServer).

3. Exited and re-entered full-screen mode.

4. Disabled Graphics Processer in Preferences.

5. Reset Photoshop preferences.

6. Reinstalled Photoshop completely.

7. Tested in macOS Safe Mode and checked for macOS updates.

Unfortunately, none of these solutions have resolved the issue. This problem disrupts my workflow, and I'd appreciate your help in identifying the cause and providing a resolution.

Thank you for your assistance

Version : Photoshop 26. 2

Betrieb: mac OS

I have had a problem with the taskbar for a long time. During post-production, the top bar disappears. I have to close the program and restart it. After post-production of several photos, the problem appears again and again. Very tiring, delaying work.

I updated Photoshop (v26.3.0) and as soon as I opened Filters > Camera Raw Filter, I got the message

I opened Photoshop Preferances and saw this:

I messed with recommended solutions for a couple of hours.  No joy.  Any recommendations?

Jeff, I must have missed something the first time I tried your solution so went back and tried, again.  This time, it worked.  The GPU had been temorarily disabled by a little text file.  Many thanks, sir!

I thought I should include that, after installing Photoshop v26.3.0 on my MacBook Pro 2019 (Sequoia 15.3), Photoshop is operating normally.

I am often unable to access and use the Photoshop menu bar on the majority of occasions especially if working with multiple images or layers and raw images. It doesn't make any difference how PS is called and images opened.

The editing feature work in the sidebar and the sub-menu bar within the editor but the main top bar menu simply doesn't respond. As a consequence am unable to use any File, Edit, Image, Layer etc functions. Shortcuts still work - but you have to remember them all to do so. Impossible.

The problem occurs 100% every time when more than one raw image is opened through Camera Raw 17.1 irrespective of if any Raw adjustments are made although it locks up on other occasions too. The first image opened seems fine, but PS becomes unusable when a second is opened.

Editing other formats (eg TIFFs exported from LrC) is fine although I believe I have had the occasional problem there too.

Environment details :

Photoshop 26.3.0

MacOS  15.1.1
MPB 2019 Core i9 16GB Ram

This problem has also occured a while ago on previous versions of PS.

There are no RAM issues - still 3GB+ ram available and no memory pressure indicated.

I stopped using PS because of this but want to get back to the additional capabilities that PS offers and do more creative editing. That at the moment is zero!
