I just updated Photoshop and the Remove Tool is not working and it has a black smudge whereever I paint the effect, hope if it's a bug then it gets fixed soon...thanks and if you have any solution then please help
Hello - Photoshop team here. @josetphoto@Dawn26748925htc0 Thank you for letting us know about the issue you'e experiencing. We have not been able to reproduce this at HQ yet. It would help us to know more about your system and when(if) the behavior changed from good-results to the yucky smudge.
1. Could you please paste your System Info (Help > System Info... [Copy]) into a direct message to me or send to me by email? meredith. at. Adobe dot. com
2. Did the Remove Tool used to work? If so, what build did you first see the bad behavior? If possible, copy the first line from System Info that looks like this: Adobe Photoshop Version: 24.7.0 20230612.m.2205 please note if you are using or have used the Photoshop Beta.
3. What is the color mode/bit depth of your file. (Example: RGB/8 - as shown in the document name tab at the top of your image.)
4. Does it still occur if Preferences > Image Processing > Remove Tool Processing= More Stable? ( I see that does not solve the issue for @Dawn26748925htc0 )
I'm having the same issue with the remove tool. It seems to work correctly sometimes, other times it leaves a brown smudge. (Yesterday it worked well about 80% of the time; today it's worked about 20% of the time). I've tried reinstalling PSCC 26.4 and have also gone into Preferences to make the Image Processing "More Stable" per the suggestion, but it continues to function inconsistently.
I did has you said and it's still not working not even with Photoshop's default preferences, it might be a bug...I'm going to re-install the previous version and see what happens and I'll let you know what happens
Launch BETA Photoshop While Pressing The Keyboard Shortcut
With Photoshop closed, press and hold Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Shift+Command+Option (Mac) on your keyboard and then Launch Photoshop the way you normally would.
Hi @urbanlights1 Can you share some before and after images detailing the issue?
Also, go to Photoshop Help Menu/System Info and copy/paste details in a reply. Post only once as the system takes time to process the large amount of data.
