P: Search bar missing when browsing cloud documents

I don't know if this a bug or just a change Adobe made in the recent updates, but there is no longer a search bar in the window that pops up when you try to open a new file while within a file, which I do daily to grab elements from other designs i've made in the past. Now you have to scroll through years of designs to spot the one you want, or you have to close photoshop, open it again, then you can search there for the design you want, open it and then open the original file you were working on.

Very very annoying.

After updating to the 26" versions of the applications, I can no longer search for files within Creative Cloud if I am already in a project.  So example, I am working on a project already and need to open another project. When I go to File>Open, I'm greeted with this window, which doesn't allow me to search like the previous versions did.

Now, If I wanted to search for other projects, I have to exit Photoshop and open the Creative Cloud App separately and search through there, which presents its own set of issues that I won't get into here. Is there anyway to revert this UI back or am I missing something?

Any update on this? I'm keen to know why they think removing the search bar is a good idea.

Why can't you search at all when doing ctrl + o to open a file in the cloud files anymore and ive just seen that its been removed from illustrator now too... it saves so much time with work having to look back for old files / elements... and now i have to close all my files to go back to the "your files" section to be able to search, its so unproductive and confusing.

And also why when I'm working with large files does the cloud saving function always stop working now, like multiple times per session I'll try save and the cloud files don't work and i have to fully restart all of the adobe apps for it to work again...

considering how big of a part of my career adobe is involved it's really worrying the direction all the apps are heading... I think I'm just going to invest in a hard drive and save everything locally but it's frustrating as having my files backed on the cloud has saved me a few times.

Hi @richard_7019, welcome to the community!
Could you share a few more details about the issue? Which version of Photoshop are you using? If possible, a screenshot would be super helpful. Thanks a lot!

Alek

Hi @Aleke , I have the exact same problem after updating to 27.0.0 version. I attached the screenshot, whenever I want to open files and select cloud files, this window pops up. It's in Czech, but as you can see there is no search bar, only thing I can do is switch the grid view to list, sort from A to Z and scroll until I find what I need. Which is really annoying if you have more templates there. Please help.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for replying! When looking for cloud documents, i only see a sorting option, not filter options.

@Iacoca5CC4 click "on your computer" bottom left if you are searching your HD, if you are searching the cloud use the Filter icon top right.
