P: Share Button Blinks Continually (23.4.1)

Community Beginner ,
Jul 21, 2022 Jul 21, 2022

I have an issue with a blinking 'share' button (see attached video) and it's driving me nuts. (imac 27", OS Monterey, Photoshop 23.4.1) My solution at the moment is a piece of paper with tape to cover it, but I'm hopeful there will be a better solution for this bug.

Please help!

I can confirm that the blinking in my case was caused by RightFont's auto-activation functionality, specifically the step in which it checks for missing fonts (over and over). I submitted a support ticket to RightFont and they have issued an update in which the automatic check for missing fonts is disabled in Photoshop and must be triggered using a keyboard command. If using RightFont 6.4, check Preferences - Auto Activation for the Enable Shortcut option.

Try logging out of CCD and then back in @Jonathan Sainsbury and see if the 24.1.1 shows.  What type of account do you have, personal or Enterprise or Federated?

Thank you,

Cory

Thank you @Jonathan Sainsbury, Curious if you clicked the "check for updates" link in the upper right and what it returned?

Yes. Clicked the Check For Updates rotating arrows. No result/response.
Have auto-update on as well. Some argue not to do that. But I like to be bleeding edge with updates.

STILL FLASHING.  Updated to the latest 24.1.1.  Have reset prefs, reinstalled, etc.

And now I seem to no longer be able to enter manual values in the Type palette.

I've been reading this for a few months, standing by for others to uncover a solution, but I've had enough. Same behavior here in spite of all the troubleshooting tips previously mentioned. Disruptive blinking behavior persists with the 24.1.1 update installed 10 days ago on a 16" MacBook Pro M1 Max running macOS Ventura 13.1.

As a follow-up, here's a screen capture. Notice how it also causes the active tool cursor to switch back and forth to a standard cursor. Blinking stops during actual tool use, then resumes when tool is released.

Updating the Photoshop version does nothing.
Resetting the preferences doesn't do anything.
Posting in this forum is useless.
And the blinking drives you insane after two hours of working in Photoshop.
It may be time to take a closer look at Affinity Photo.

It is a problem with RighFont in my case. Closing it, makes the flickering go away.

Yes, disable „Auto Activation“ in RightFont preferences stops the blinking.
