Photoshop version open warning

I have PS version 25.11.0 and LR Classic version 13.5.1 on Mac OS Sonoma 14.5 and have been getting the following error message when I try to open a photo from LR in PS.

"Photoshop version open warning.  Lightroom Classic and Adobe Photoshop 2024 are having issues connecting.  Please reinstall Adobe Photoshop 2024 and try again."

This was not occuring a few weeks ago when I last used both programs.  Both programs open independtly and work fine.  Please advise.  I would prefer to not have to reinstall Photoshop if possible, as I have a custom workspace, brushes, actions, settings that I dont want to have to re-do.  Thank you

Hi there,

We're sorry for the Edit-in issue you are seeing between Lightroom Classic and Photoshop. Take a look at the following conversation and try the offered solutions: https://adobe.ly/3MDhgc1

Let us know if that helps.

Thanks,
Mohit

Have you backed up your custom workspaces, brushes, actions, etc.? If not, you are at risk for losing them at an inconvenient time. Go to the panel menu for each of these and save your customizations so they can be reloaded from the panel menu.

Also see this help page: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#backup-photoshop-preferences

Having the same issue as from today. Uninstalled PS beta. But no improvement. PS 25.12.0 LRC 13.5.1 and Windows 11 23h2.

I hope there is a solution without reinstalling PS?

This morning I am trying to edit images in Lightroom Classic as layers in Photoshop 2024,

Edit in / Open as Layers in Photoshop

and getting an error that says: Photoshop Version Open Warning.

Lightroom Classic and Adobe Photoshop 2024 are having issues connecting. Please reinstall Adobe Photoshop 2024 and try again.

This was all working fine yesterday and previously..

I don't see anyway that I can re-install Photoshop 2024.  When I go to Adobe Creative Cloud there is no option to re-install.  When I log into Adobe.com there is also no option to re-install the app.

How do I re-install Photoshop 2024 per the instructions in the error message?  All the apps in my subscription are up to date.

@tonymuffin just click on the 3 dots, and you'll see the option to uninstall

Same issue here. Started today and the only thing that happened in yesterday was an update to Sonoma 14.7 from 14.6.

PS 25.12

LR 13.5.1

I don't want to reintall anything 😞

Oh well, used the CC app to reinstall and keeping all preferences. It worked fine so problem solved now. It's just annoying that this happens out of the blue.

Solved it by saving the presets, uninstalling PS and reinstalling it.

Solved after eading this thread. Used the CC App to uninstall PS selecting the option of Keep preferences and re-installed. All running well. All settings in place.

Go to Preferences > External Editing > Photoshop Version > Adobe Photoshop 2024

It seems LR sometimes defaults to Photoshop Beta. Simple fix!

It's a bug that is related to having PS Beta, if you go into preferences and change your edit in software from PS to PS Beta, or PS Beta to PS it should resolve without any further frustration. If you uninstall PS or PS Beta and Lightroom it would also fix it but then you'd have to enjoy all that excitment.
