Save a photo to my desktop

Previously it was easy to save a photo to my desktop on my mac computer. But now it takes many steps in the menu to save to the desktop. Any suiggestions?

Without knowing what file format and the particulars about the file you want to save, i'll suggest in Photoshop going to Photoshop 2024>Settings>File Handling and checking Enable Legacy "Save As".

See if that makes any difference.
