A good basic Graphics card, able to deal with Photoshop on Creative Cloud (basic £9.95 per month).

Next year I want to start using Adobe Photoshop to create some bespoke Pet Portraits. I am going to use their Photoshop basic (Cloud version £9.95 per month). I did start having a go a week or so ago, with their free trial but was told by their Graphic Compatibility Check that OpenCL was unavailable, DirectX was unavailable and there was insufficient VRAM, basically my graphics card is an antique.

Thanks to D. Fosse, but since you spoke to me, I have realised a stand alone computer to add as an extra computer would be better for me.

First, I started to look at installing a better graphics card, but since then I have realised I would be better buying a base stand-alone computer that would be solely used for running Photoshop. I use my computer to run 8 monitors (trading), so attaching another computer to my main monitor seemed to be the best way of going about this.

What would be a decent stand-alone computer (no, monitors, keyboard etc). I haven't got a huge budget, do not need a computer that will help run the hydron collider, perhaps an i5 or i7, 16gb ram with a graphics card that could cope with Photoshop, what would you recommend?

Does anyone use the NVidia Geoforce 710 or 730 for Photoshop?. If I have to buy a more expensive Graphics card, I may have to wait a few months, as my budget is

limited.

Would this be good enough for me to use Photoshop (on a basic level)?

computer tower ( i7 2nd gen 2700 2.7GHz processor 16GB
Ram RTX3050 V2, PCIe4, 8GB DDR6 graphic card wifi
card 500w psu 80+ browns 1tb SSD)

Oh I know it would be better to go with 32GB ram....so would 64gb!! In a few weeks, I could afford this system....just. It would be used to run Photoshop and would have no other programmes on it at all, I would use my other computer for everything else. Thanks!

8 GB is very low, thats first thing to upgrade. Beside RAM its good enough for basic operations and beyond.

The 8GB ram is on the graphics card, 16GB for the computer....so are you saying I would need a minimum of 16GB on the graphics card?

First, I started to look at installing a better graphics card, but since then I have realised I would be better buying a base stand-alone computer that would be solely used for running Photoshop.

Yes, a wise decision. I was about to suggest that in the other thread, but thought I shouldn't push it too far 😉

It seems we all agree on RTX 3060 or 4060. As a budget option, I think an RTX 3050 or 4050 should also work reasonably well.

i5 and 16 GB will work. i7 and 32 GB will work better.

Either way, it's important that you have enough disk space. A 1 TB NVMe system drive (that's the kind you plug directly into the motherboard) will be pretty much optimal. You can put OS/applications there, as well as the all-important Photoshop scratch disk.

Then you can decide on a secondary drive to hold all your images and assets.

Nope, thats too old GPU for newest Photoshop releases. My personal recommendation is RTX 3060Ti if you are building machine, do not consider nothing below.

Is this RTX 3060Ti the cheapest option that could deal with basic Pet Portrait editing on Photoshop? Well, if that's the case I (and I am not doubting you at all!!) then I am going to have to wait quite a while and save up, thanks!!
