ACR 15.5 Masking - important masking changes box won't go away

On opening an image to ACR (or applying ACR as a filter within photoshop) and selecting the masking option a dialogue box about important changes (has a fox as an image) pops up and won't go away no other buttons work and the only solution seems to be to force close photoshop. screen shot attached

Versions ACR 15.5 Photoshop 24.7

Windows 11 build 22621.2134

Odd, looks like the windows is a bit faded, like its failed half way through when closing the window. And ACR thinks the window is closed, but it's only half way there. Does it look like this when you restart PS and ACR or do you have to attempt to close it again, only to have it fail again? I asume you have tried pressing Escape? What happens if you do ALT + F4?

Wonder if this could be a Windows 11 problem... hmmm. The entire ACR interface is just running worse and worse for each new version! It's starting to become really painful to use!

Don't know much about MAC OS, but maybe Shift+⌘ Cmd+w would work?

I am having the same problem but on a Mac. There is no way to close the modal window with the fox on it and I can't find a button combination that will close it.

Great that you solved it! I was a bit hesitant to mention Escape, but now I am glad I did! 🙂

Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately made no difference.

I can not replicate using same versions of ACR and Photoshop. Try with Camera Raw preference reset: in Photoshop hold down Alt then go to Edit > Preferences > Camera Raw then confirm that you want to reset preferences.
