Adding text layer to jpg giving wrong font

Hi I have opened a gif image to edit that was designed by someone else.  I cant unlock the background layer so I have exported it as a jpg.

I have gone to add a text layer but the font is displaying as some weird system display font, despite that I have Open Sans as the font.

Correct answer rudo123

Try different anti-aliasing for your text? Make big difference at that size.

Is OpenSans actually installed? How does it look in TextEdit or Pages? Oh and its "stories."
