Adobe getting worse each update

Why does every update keep getting worse and worse, to the point where it's almost unbearable to use?

Photoshop is crazy glitchy. I have to click save about 10 times to save a JPG as it's always greyed out. After someone from tech support 'fixed it, it went back to being glitchy again and not working.

Now my gradient tool doesn't work any more.... eurghhhhh its diabolical!

One thing after another.... dont roll an update out unless its ready to go! I wish there was another program i could use because at this point id switch. Painful!

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

The jpeg format doesn't support 16 bit depth/layers/transparency. That's why it's unavailable.

Is there an error on the Adobe site IRT saving images?

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/file-formats.html

Just tried the Save As JPEG file format. Although there is a JPEG 2000 there is not with a few different file ext. My file extensions is JPF and is a 16 bit file.

If I change the file to an 8 bit I get the JPEG as an option.

The Adobe article states "

Formats for 16-bit images (requires Save A Copy command)

Photoshop, Large Document Format (PSB), Cineon, DICOM, IFF, JPEG, JPEG 2000, Photoshop PDF, Photoshop Raw, PNG, Portable Bit Map, and TIFF.

I don't believe so.

Enabling Legacy Save As in File Handling preferences, or pressing the "As a Copy" button and Save a Copy all produce a file conforming to the JFIF/JPEG specification using 8 bpc from a 16 bpc original.

Can you tell us what you are seeing with the gradient tool?
Is this the new or classic tool?

I so agree. And the only way to get satisfaction is to NOT invest in Adob! Tell your broker to pull out at lease enough to send a message. Stop having us PAY to develope their product.

Please read this (in particular the section titled "Supply pertinent information for more timely and effective answers”):
https://community.adobe.com/t5/using-the-community/community-how-to-guide-tips-amp-best-practices/td...

What are you doing when you are failing to save jpgs?

Are you using »Save a Copy« or are you trying to add compression-damage to existing jpg-files or …?

What is your Preferences > File Handling > Enable legacy »Save As«-setting?

If you actually want to trouble-shoot the issues you are experiencing then could you please post screenshots taken at View > 100% with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Options Bar, …) visible to illustrate the failing process?

As for »switching«: Obviously you do not need to use Photoshop, alternatives do exist.

HDR 32 bpc mode requires manual tone mapping before a JPEG can be saved.

Export As has an automatic Exposure 0/Gamma 1 tone mapping function applied.

Note the available file formats for your 32 bpc file in the Save As file format dropdown.

Next, compare ticking the "As a Copy" checkbox and note the available file formats for your 32 bpc file in the Save As file format dropdown.

Finally, convert a copy of the 32 bpc image to 8 bpc and then note the available file formats in the Save As dropdown.
