Adobe now requires the Right to Acces your work

Community Beginner ,
Jun 06, 2024 Jun 06, 2024

I just found out.

[Link removed - see community guidelines on misleading information]

"Our automated systems may analyze your Content and Creative Cloud Customer Fonts (defined in section 3.10 (Creative Cloud Customer Fonts) below) using techniques such as machine learning in order to improve our Services and Software and the user experience. Information on how Adobe uses machine learning can be found here: http://www.adobe.com/go/machine_learning."

You cannot opt out of allowing them to access your work anymore... So basically by using this software, you're allowing their ai tool to possibly generate in the same style of your work. Even ND and copyrighted conent.

Adobe, would you like to respond?

@Kevin Stohlmeyer what if no one brought this issue out loud? Do you think Adobe is listening or just pretending they care?

@mr3746448219o4 @Alex_R84 If you are using anything with cloud services - Microsoft, Google, etc. then you have already agreed to similar terms. Having dealt with this since 2013 both on the Adobe side and with other companies this is not anything agregious or with malice. Hopefully the update coming soon with give plain explanations to each term that everyone can understand instead of jumping to worse-case (and wrongly so) conclusions.

"Adobe is listening?" To whom? If they listened, they wouldn't be in this mess in the first place. They wouldn't be cramming in these plagiarism tools in the first place.

What mess ?   I bet their revenue continues to grow.  There are probably just a handful upset.
You can never judge by what you see on forums.  People who are happy, usually don't post.

I do not understand this thread's long life.  Why not look at the alternatives:

1.  If you don't care what Adobe does with your content, keep on truckin'.

2.  If you do care, but the usefullness of Adobe products outweighs your concerns, keep on truckin'.

3. If you do care and you imagine some great harm to you (either financial, intellectual, or physical) that is an unacceptable risk, go elsewhere.

let's end this thread, it is going nowhere.  p.s.  I fall in category 1.

I am a professional digital artist working with Legendary and other companies and frankly, there are serious copyright concerns here. Even with data that we made earlier, that needs to be addressed. If you personally have no stakes, then your responses are pointless.

It's not either 1, 2 or 3 it's about the trust. There is no reason for Adobe to have access our photos or documents. Period.

'There is no reason for Adobe to have access our photos or documents. Period'

Wrong. If you use Adobe servers to store or process your images, there are several reasons, including Adobe's legal responsibilities.

Then those use cases need to be specified very explicity. And what they will NOT use our art for also needs to be explicitly stated.

Adobe is required to check its servers for child abusive material as well as things like copyrighted music. These are legal obligations and an NDA or other private contract cannot override them.
