Adobe photoshop has encountered a problem and needs to close

Question

Everytime I go to launch Photoshop (I have the latest version - 25.1), it crashes immediately. I get "Adobe photoshop has encountered a problem and needs to close" ....

I have tried unistalling and reinstalling numerous times, tried older versions, tried signing out of creative cloud, even removed the whole thing from my PC.

Everything is up-to-date and no matter what I try, it is not opening.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
