When editing any image in RGB I get all kinds of strange drawing/ghosting/colour bugs, please see attached image. CMYK and Greyscale work fine and converting the RGB image to either eliminates the problem. (Screenshot is of a highly convincing Illuminati email invitation.)
I'm still stuck on Catalina, so if that is a likely problem please let me know so I can bug my IT department!
Many thanks,
Adam
In case this is useful for others: Updating to BigSur has just fixed this bug for me.

Realised I somehow missed the same topic here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem/photoshop-artifacts-on-background/td-p/12335391 but the solution makes panning/zooming unusably slow.

Probably due to a GPU bug fix in that newer OS.

Go to Preferences > Technology Previews and check "Deactivate Native Canvas" if you're on macOS 10.15.x. I don't believe the graphics drivers will be updated in 10.15.x/
Updating to BigSur (macOS 11.x) updates the graphics driver which fixes this issue.

That litterally just worked for me. I was having the same issues. Turn off native canvas in Preferences, technology preview settings.
