I thought I needed to upgrade but I'm in 23.2.1 and there is still no result when I try to adjust brightness contrast. This happens on every photo. Please please help.

Do you mean Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Brightness / Contrast? It works for me on Windows.

You can accomplish same task using Curves, by the way. Sometimes reseting preferences may solve weird behaviour https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html

I'm on a mac. Not using an adjustment layer. Just using the image/adjustments/brightness-contrast.

It no longer works. Curves DOES work as a workaround. I've also been making modifications in Lightroom. But a simple brightness/contrast adjustment seems like not too much to ask, right? It's a bug.

I'll try trashing preferences.  Thanks.
