Brush Tool Erases & Eraser Tool Paints - Photoshop 2020

Hello

 

I am running Phoroshop 2020.  Works great except my brush tool erases and my eraser tool paints.  Got me stumped.  Any suggestions for correcting?

Check your Tools panel and tell us what colors you have for the foreground and background swatches. Any chance white is your foreground color? That's the first thing I would look at, even if it's just to rule it out. Type "D" to reset your default swatches.

Change Mode on top left to Normal is for brush and Clear is for an eraser. Here is your fix:

    Switching myforeground color from white to black seems to have done the trick.

    Hi Michael,

    That shouldn't be happening, could you please try resetting the preferences of Photoshop and let us know if it helps?

    Note: Make sure that you back up all your custom presets, brushes & actions before restoring Photoshop's preferences. Migrate presets, actions, and settings
