Brushes in brush folder lacking icon

Hi - Just recently downloaded a new brush only to discover that just about every brush looks blank.  They do not have the typical brush icon and need an app to open them.  Strangly there is no photoshop app.  Always used to load them into this folder and click on them to install them; no problem.  See attached screen print.
