Cannot save file, error message says file name not valid

PS 23.5.5 for Mac OS 10.15.7 is now fiving me an error when I try to save a file:

`Could not save as EJL 230620 1048-Edit-2.tif" because the file name was not valid.' I tried changing the file name to "1-48.tif" and get the same error message.

I'm now stuck in the middle of a project, and can't save any work.

    Here's an update. I closed PS and restarted, losing the work I'd done. I did asmall edit, tried to save it, with the same results. I closed PS again, restarted the comuter, restarted PS, opened a file, worked on it, saved it just fine. I guess the lesson is save your work frequently.
