Therefore, I need to change the ctrl + tab shortcut in Photoshop for the same one I use with "Move focus to next window"

Not possible. (edit: at current at least)

Also I expect the OS shortcut would take precedence anyway.

I recommend you abandon using the Application Frame altogether.

Does the »Move focus …«-shortcut work as expected when you work with proper floating windows in Photoshop?

@Syntax_One

I've branched your post from a thread from 2014.

Just curious!  [Ctrl+Tab] does nothing in my Ps in Windows. [Ctrl+Tab], also cannot use it as a KB shortcut in the Keyboard Editor [ALT+SHIFT+CTRL+K].

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.0, Photoshop 27.0, ACR 18.0, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0 .

I'm asking because I've always used the "Move focus to next window" shortcut on macOS system preferences, but on my new computer running on Ventura, this shortcut doesn't work anymore in Photoshop.

And this happens when I try to add a specific Photoshop shortcut via the system preferences:

I like having the same shortcut for the same function accross all applications on my computer.

Thank you!

ctrl-tab works just fine here (Adobe Photoshop 24.7.0 on Mac OS 13.5.1).

Why do you want to set it via the OS shortcuts?

How about using the general »Move focus to next window«?

ctrl + tab works fine on my end as well in Photoshop. As mentioned, I'm asking because I've always used a "Move focus to next window" custom shortcut via macOS system preferences (I need a workflow where I can use the same shortcut on all applications), but on my new MacBook Pro running on Ventura 13.5.1, this shortcut doesn't work anymore in Photoshop (it just goes to the Application frame).

I have a custom shortcut for Â»Move focus to next window« and it works in all applications as far as I can tell. (edit: including Photoshop)

I guess I don’t understand your problem.

If the shortcut works in Photoshop – fine.

If you prefer using the OS’ »Move focus to next window« instead – what is the problem exactly?

As mentioned before, the "Move focus to next window"shortcut doesn't work on my machine with Photoshop (it just goes to Photoshop's Application frame).

I want the same shortcut for all my applications because it helps my workflow.

Therefore, I need to change the ctrl + tab shortcut in Photoshop for the same one I use with "Move focus to next window", but I can't find where to change the ctrl + tab shortcut in Photoshop (Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts).

Thank you!

I never warmed to Application Frame and generally don’t use it, so I hadn’t originally noticed that that could be the source of the problem.

Technically I suspect this would be an Adobe-issue in that the Application Frame seems to register as the »only« window in the application with the OS.

So you could post a bug report (or feature request) about the issue.
