Question

Content-Aware Fill: Could not fill — not enough source pixels on the selected layer. Pardon!?

Hi friends,

Two .pngs. Same workflow. Different results. What am I doing wrong?

With the orange .png, Ps won't even allow me to use the custom sampling brush.

Does Content-Aware Fill hate the colour? The shape? Or me!?

Definitely in need of your advice and expertise here.

I have included screenshots of Content-Aware Fill working with the green .png and not working with the orange .png.

I tried to duplicate your issue with a similar design, but it worked OK.  I hate to suggest resetting Preferences because it irritates the heck out of me when I have to resort to it, but when things gets weired, it often does the trick.

Same problem. Auto works and Rectangular works, but Custom gives me the error message since at least the last Photoshop update.

Hey Ali,

Thank you, I have now tried that, and guess what? Same error!

'Could not fill because there are not enough source pixels on the selected layer.'

I even tried Select > Modify > Expand to select more pixels.

I wonder what's wrong?
