Converting text layer styles to SVG

I want to learn how to work with SVG images.

 

I have a Photoshop file that includes a variety of text styled with the fx button ("Add a layer style"). When I tried to save it as a SVG file, I got a warning that I would have problems with the text unless I created each text layer to a shape.

 

So I did that. When I saved it as a SVG file, all the fx styles were lost.

 

The alternative is to merge all layers, so the text is part of one big graphic. I don't have a problem with that, but would I lost some functionality? I'm not yet familiar with all the things SVG files can do, but I believe it has special text support, right?

 

In summary, I'd like to know the best way to save a Photoshop image that includes text layers styled with fx as a SVG image. Thanks.

svg is a line, dot or text

you can use different codes to colour it or change dirrection but it has no shape and doesn't read correct in Photoshop because its designed for web browsers

    I think layer style should be used as CSS not part of SVG file.

      Let me see if I understand this...

       

      If I create an SVG file that includes several text layers in Illustrator, can I use CSS to add things like bevel and outer glow to each text layer?

      I am not in that business last couple of years. You can add styling like bevel, drop shadow and even some animation, I think, using css. That is not new.

      Photoshop does not support SVG files Photoshop. Photoshop's   text layer use vector graphics and text layers can be converted to shapes.Photoshop has some vector support.  I'm sure  Photoshop Texts layer can exported as a SVG file. However if you add layer styles effects I would not think these  effect would be generated  via vector graphics. I would think the Photoshop being a pixel editor would render pixels for the various style effects.  That if Photoshop export the text layer as a SVG file there would be a lot of raster pixel layer data in the svg file.  If you want to create SVG files you should use Adobe's Vector editor Adobe Illustrator.

       

      I do not install AI so I do not know if AI support Photoshop PSD file and Layer style effects. If do not know how to use AI or knoiw if AI has support for layer styles.
