Hi community!

I'm receiving the error "Could not open “filename.psd” because of a program error." on specific files.

Screenshot 2024-03-07 at 09.09.45.png

I did all tips (update photoshop, older version, reset Photoshop's preferences by holding down Cmd+Opt+Shift) and it doesn't work 😞

I can't open any files - png/ psd etc.

Could you help me?

Try disabling the GPU under performance and see if that works. Report back.

Kevin Stohlmeyer says to disable the GPU. However, doing that opens up the files (yay!) but it screws up my On1 plug-ins so they launch with a blank screen. I get the message shown below when I start up the Mac each morning and try to open any file, then have to restart and it all works fine after that. What is the solution to keeping the GPU on and getting rid of this "program error"? I tried a chat with Adobe tech support and got nowhere with the tech.
