Could not use the type tool because of a program error. Mac Photoshop CC 14.1.2

I have Photoshop CC 14.1.2 running on Mavericks and whenever I try to type text following a path (ex: in a circular path) I run across an error that says "Could not use the type tool because of a program error." I have tried getting rid of all corrupt texts as well as duplicates. There were a few duplicates that I could not delete, however these were not any text types that I planned to use. I am making a circular logo for an organization I am a part of so I would appreciate any help with resolving this issue. Thanks!

    For anyone having this issue - I deleted a bunch of fonts and was going through these steps when I realized it only occurred on an image of mode 'Indexed Color' (an imported GIF or PNG-8) and once I converted to RGB Color (which I needed to do anyhow but hadn't realized the image wasn't already RGB), the type tool worked fine.

    This is happening to me as well, but the type tool SHOULD work in Index mode.  I just did it a few days ago and now it's not working.  Has anyone figured out this issue?

    Install the updates to pick up text tool bug fixes for different color modes.

    I am having the same issue getting this "program error" message ever since upgrading to 14.2 last week.

    Am running 10.6.8 Mac OS with 16 gigs ram on a 2.93 Ghz Intel Core i7 Mac.

    Keep getting the message just trying to use the rubber stamp tool, or making a new layer, or now just trying to use the history brush.

    Basically using ANY tool from the tool pallete gives me that message and I have to quit and relaunch. Have done this 4 times already this AM.

    What's happened??

    I haven't been able to use the new verion at all because I always have this error, does anyone has figure this out ye?

    That usually happens due to corrupt fonts or OS font caches.

    Hello, I've cleared the cache for both Photoshop and the Mac OS system. I've also resolved all corrupt fonts and deleted all duplicate fonts but the error still persists :/
